I bought a pair of brand new, leather tap shoes for £7 from the Martletts yesterday. Admittedly they are men’s shoes, but they look exactly like my old pair but are a much better quality. I was so chuffed that I forgot what I’d actually gone on to look for!0

At least recovery physio is going to be easier - walk between 50 & 100 steps - 'right, drop me off outside X & pick me up outside Y'.
No supermarkets & no art galleries/museums for a bit (is this bliss?!) other than all the things you can see on-line, but there are quite a few possibles. Like Google's Art Project, which started as a good idea (& pushed the imaging tech so far it could provide a virtual museum when the national Brazilian museum burned) plus other monster musea which require money & travel to get to - not for you - enjoy them on whatever digital tech you can hold in one hand or get projected up on a wall or however you can help yourself deal with immobilised boredom - here's an article listing 12 international museua. with links.
You may be expected to keep up with the household shop by going online, but the substitutions & my own drug-addled errors (ahem, I ordered quite a lot of soap rather than soup QuiteByChance) meant my family removed that chore from me. Borrow their motability kit and go at seriously off peak hours if you want a change from the home. (Always phone ahead & check someone can assist you if at all possible. Saves all sorts of irritations & spares your family. friends etc! Plus it's delightful how many staff Do Like To Help, they just need to be given a mandate!)
Very best of luck and here's somewhere to browse in case Art gets too much?1 -
Had a good afternoon in Otley today. First stop the 99p St Gemma's Hospice shop. Rifled thro every rail and found nothin':( Moved on to the weird 20p shop and they had boxes and boxes of antibacterial wipes - 20 individually wrapped wipes in each box for...ermmm 20p. Perfect for some forthcoming travel. Scoured all the other chazza shops in vain and was about to head for the bus station when I spotted the St Gemma's van arriving with a fresh load of wondrous goodies so I had to scuttle back sharpish as they put all the new stuff straight out in the shop. I feel sorry for the assistant who has to quickly try to mark the newly arriving stuff down to 99p whilst all the marauding hordes, (me included:o) try to nab anything that looks interesting. Anyhoo I successfully 'nabbed' a short, BNWT, M & S navy lightweight trench-style jacket, an M & S fitted shift dress with pink, white and grey flowers on a navy background - looks new but no tags, and a TU white BNWT T shirt. Nice little haul for £3.17. And no alterations to do this time :j0

That man...
In a box labelled "help yourself" pulled out & brought home intact two Langley Canterbury dinner plates. Plus two copper pans tin lined. He donated all his spare change but that was under a quid.0 -
I bought a pair of cream cotton curtains in perfect condition for £2.50 at the Kathleen Home cs, in a nearby village. Exactly what I had been browsing the stores for earlier, I couldn't believe it!! They need shortening, but I can do that.
I had actually gone in to see if they had any high chairs - they hadn't but I struck lucky with the curtains.0 -
Edwardian Farm, Victorian Farm and Wartime Farm, 3 for £1 in hospice shop.
The Tudor Farm book was there too, but I realise now I forgot it when I was searching for others to make up my second 3 for £1 selection.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

We're all for a bargain but that's almost criminal negligence by the charity shop pricers.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
To add bubbles, he hunted out some pairs of cords (eldest adores them) largely as packing & got two new tagged pairs for £3 each (tags say £40 apiece) and then found a new Goretex hooded jacket in scarlet in eldest's size, brand new for a fiver. (Some charity shops take cards.)
Eldest is now strutting round like a happy peacock.
Younger sibling has had Coco Pops added to the shopping list...0 -

I’m the early bird that got the worm this morning. I dropped dad no 3 at school and did number 2 at work. Dropped off an eBay parcel, picked up a prescription and was the first person in the cs when it opened at 9am. Anyway I’m on a quest to find Emma bridgewater and resist clothes but a lack of pottery saw me browsing the cardigans. A stunning purple cardigan took my eye and at £4.95 seemed a bargain. Closer inspection showed it was from the cashmere centre and is brand new as has a bag of thread and buttons attached to the label. I’d not heard of the cashmere centre but I’ve just looked it up and my cardigan is currently for sale at £179! I’m thrilled0
