I found a navy and pink stripey infinity scarf for £2, and two WW cookbooks (for my sister for Christmas) for £2.50 in our local shop today.
Didn't have time to hunt around the ones further afield.0 -
A Next fully lined dress with a black bodice and cap sleeves with a dog's tooth check lower half with inset pockets with black edging and a kick pleat at the back. Quite fitted with princess seaming front and back. Just above knee length. Very smart.

I bought a lovely quilted coat( B.You) for £6.75 from my favourite charity shop which is more like a neighbourhood shop as we all know each other and even the dog is welcomed with a biscuit!
The quilting had lost its loft in places so I washed it and then tumbled dried it with two tennis balls. Problem solved.0 -
some great finds
I have been out and about last week and this morning in local town..Last Thursday I bagged an absolute bargain for £1. A gorgeous Black dressy coat jacket which just ends above my knees. It fitted perfect and I wore it to church yesterdayLove a bargain. So I now have 2 new coats for this autumn winter..a green knee length German designed jacket in a lovely muted green ...it cost £6.75 about a month ago. So 2 coats for £7.75. Id say to buy these two new would be at least £180. They are in super condition too.
Today I hit upon a pile of very good quality towels. I bought 5 all at 50p each. I never pass a good towel. Also some flananette pillowcases and a pretty vintage necklace. The lady charged me £4 for the lot.
Also called into another one that I donate to and picked up some lovely toys that had just came in. Its amazing what you can find in charity shops absolute bargains, the best money saving one can do.0 -
Himself (being a Chesterfield lad) has an eye for the Sheffield cutlery & where canteens appear, he tends to run a thoughtful eye over. Thus we have several & today, gulp, they were all hauled out, lit & the lads turned loose on them as one is about to move to a place of his own.
He'll haul someone's wedding present off - husband paid all of eight quid (& the equivalent is retailing at over £200 guaranteed Sheffield made.)0 -
