2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
Anyway, here we are, 1st October! In terms of my list on page 923 for today:
- check out what cars are available locally from registered, "safe" dealers. I definitely don't know enough to make a private purchase.
- it might be nice to see to the second curtain, get the hemming done, then it's just gathering and hanging.
- bit more weeding - not much, my back won't take it, but some.
- self care: a walk, and charge the toothbrush.
That's plenty from the big list2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Can you still get the likes of the AA to check out a used car for you, I know you used to be able to, unless you have a tame mechanic. It might be worth a membership & for peace of mind some sort of breakdown service is a good idea. I have only ever really had them to flat tyres but stuck on a main road with one is not a lot of fun. They once had to tow the car out of the garage because of course the flat was on the side that was really close to the wall.

That was exactly my thoughts too, badmemory
Been doing non-list things - dishwasher, sweeping, cleaning the sinks - having a bit of a rest and then out for a walk.

Very pleasant walk
it's lovely out there.
Then I got to grips with really looking for "local" (i.e. my county) dealerships selling used automatic hybrids. I found one - not one dealer, one car. Loads and loads of petrol automatics. Will definitely have to do a search for neighbouring counties and for London. My brain is starting to fuzz, so not doing any more now: off for something a little more pleasurable.2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
I would skip London as any ULEZ compliant car will be an inflated price, because everybody wants/needs one. If you have family where it isn't a problem it may be worth you looking there.

Ooh, that's making me think, badmemory - trouble is, every dealer I looked at in my county had all the relevant cars marked "ULEZ compliant" - we're so close to London it's unavoidable. I was thinking about your comment overnight, and the only people where it isn't a problem are on Merseyside, and I can't disturb them with this - I asked for my brother's input about the spade issue that we were all talking about a few days ago, and told him it was okay if he didn't have the bandwidth, and he didn't, the boys aren't back at school yet, funeral yet to be booked, all of that. HOWEVER, it strikes me that I *do* have the Norfolk rellies. I haven't seen them for at least 2 years, but they're among the closest relatives I have left now, outside of immediate family. And I owe them an email anyway 🤣 I'll have a look online at Norfolk first, I think, see if ULEZ has done its thing over there as well.
Otherwise, I've kind of decided, a finance admin day today: the NSandI bond, utilities input online, and join Prolific. Finally. Otherwise, the green bin leaves tomorrow, just got to check its as full as possible. Determined to get the garden ready (though not bare soil utterly everywhere).
ETA - just input my figures to Sc00tiz Powr - hmm, there's an estimate dated 4 September, which I didn't input obviously, and it now looks like I have negative useage, because they over estimated my use, and I use a *lot* less since the price went crazy. Fairly peeved at that, but very glad I kept all the photos I take of the meters when I input the data (easier than taking a pencil note). So I now have a couple of hundred pounds in my account - we'll see how the useage goes this month, but I'm going to input every month now, I'm not having this nonsense of negative useage again.
On to the next ... the NSandI bond2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
I've done all three finance admin things, and my first survey for Prolific!
I had to have two goes at my ID documents - I have a scan of my driving licence, but where have I stashed it? No idea. Not a single clue, I hunted, then had to go back a way on the Prolific website and self ID another way. I'd better find that!2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
I do like prolific for surveys. My highest earner for sure!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
