Thank you both
and yes, I was wondering about the effect of all this *stuff* on mileage! And whether a hybrid car actually needs jump leads - absolutely no idea right now 🤣
I'm determined to get out and about in a little car - as public transport here has got worse and worse, it's becoming essential. It's still not bad in the town, but there are very few places I want to go further than 20 minutes walk, so that's not really an issue. I've sacrificed my convenience in the name of environmentalism for a long time, but even my Green Party councillor friend reassured me that I wasn't an evil person (I'm paraphrasing a *lot* 🤣).
Anyway, lunch is happily digesting, the cat is asleep, dishwasher's finished, the sun is out, my M&S deliveries are ready at the store (I'll go first thing tomorrow, stores are too busy now), I think it may be time for a bit more weeding. Or self care, for my complexion.2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
We always keep ice scrapers, first aid kit and blankets in the car. The blankets are hand if you are cold but also when you decide to have an impromptu picnic 😄

Is there even the remotest possibility that you will leave home in a car when snow is likely? I know I wouldn't these days. De-icer certainly. A car with heated seats, wing mirrors & screen, well I have. Mine is almost 8 years old now & I've had it since new & is one of the smallest cars around. Even in summer my DS turns my heated seat on as he knows how much my back can ache & how much difference it can make. Small cars tend to be a lot easier to park, don't get silver.I would love an EV but until they produce one that is even close to my current car size that is not going to happen.1

Good point about driving in snow. I'd certainly not choose to go out, but occasionally find myself out nd having to get back home 😂 But I live in the middle of nowhere very high up, and I imagine that's far less likely to happen to KC!1

As for how the unexpected happens ... my sister and her daughter are on holiday in New York (Manhattan) right now, trapped in their hotel by a rainstorm, authorities advising people not to travel, the subways are flooded - I've been watching videos on Twitter, and in one you can see that the force of the water has pulled off the manhole covers, and the floodwater is creating mini-whirlpools2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -

Better to have it and not need it than the other way round! And at that price, I might even get one for each car 😊2

Yep, that's the quote, nice one

I went to the shops this morning! Unheard of for me, and I acted like a complete prat when faced with paying over the counter, its as if I've forgotten how to do it 🤣 though I think the three times my cc has been through my washing machine probably haven't helped 😮
Anyway, I picked up the M&S orders - they're a part-duplicate, because when you order from M&S via a guest account, they don't have a "thanks for your purchase" page, which is a really unpleasant way to get more subscribers. But their collection setup is a million times better than it was, wow wow wow. And I even went to Poundland - some branded (cheap) toothpaste, Asda's own doesn't cut it. A big notebook - I'm going to divide it into months to plan out garden work. Two small boxes of milk chocolates for my sister, to thank her for the work she did on my curtains. Some more Dreamies (I'm a bit profligate 🤣 but its such fun to see him eat them). Something else too, but heaven knows what. Total £10, total bargain.2023: the year I get to buy a car2
