Karmacat said:themadvix said:I keep meaning to have a look back at my baby HW earnings too (the temptation to abbreviation to BHW was strong but it might be taking it too far into weird forum jargon! 🤣) and see what they’ve added up to over a year.
I started calling it "baby" to distinguish from what Cheery does, I thought they deserved different names 🤣 but yes, as an abbreviation, it might be one step too far 🤣
Do you do BettyFred? That’s my favourite currently - good for the ‘big’ wins.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I've been trying to find a few notes, either ones that I downloaded, or on this thread, about which other baby Happy Wheels to do, because I really wouldn't mind trying them - I looked at B/Freddie, but couldn't find anything on the home page, so I need directions, dopy me.
Anyway, dishwasher is on, I'm about to get the sowing substrate into the pluglets (cocoa fibre!) the seed packets are lined up, and the Asda driver is 12 stops away, so they say, I hope they're nearer by now 😁 5 substitutions, 15% of the value, and the peanut butter is the silliest - they make a big deal of how you'll never be charged more. But if a pack that's 700g is the same price as a pack of 400g, that's um ... more 😁 This seems to have escaped their notice.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
All good here - started well on my new account for another baby Happy Wheel, done the others, phoned sister, cleaned the window where my seedlings will go, cut down that horrible sandpaper-y sheet ready for rags. Now, I have to:
- finish cleaning the shopping, so I can use the tray as a plugpot holder (that'll be the eight trays of pluglets I was planning).
- plant the seeds!
- go to Waitrose to collect the new sheet, the alternative has already been on my bed for 4 days 🤣 I'm going to give myself a thrill and buy some Manchego at Waitrose, Asda didn't stock it last week. I need a change from feta!
- and I need to put some beans on to soak.
A couple of French things need doing, I can't quite bear to pay attention to them yet. That's okay. I have some reading to do for an environmental group at U3A on Monday (in person! Not Zoom!) and that will be my lot today, I think.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

I did go to Waitrose, and that's about my lot, I think, except for stuff on the computer.

Ha, I sorted my new baby Happy Wheel (I'm going to have to think of a shorter name
) and won 10% of my deposit straight away. I did the existing one this morning, and thought I'd play a game for a proper stake, even if its only 10p, to avoid getting gubbed there. I promptly won £3.30 🤣 oops. Though I guess that's how they encourage people to gamble, by giving big wins at the start, I'm sure their algorithm will be something like that. Withdrew £18 anyway, but still haven't worked out total winnings.
Tried to log on to the free Roots Tech "conference", but it was just a series of adverts, though I did see an actual schedule. A repeat of Vera on itv3 was more attractive
I've had an idea about how to plan more easily going forward. I love looking back at what I've done, but my planning document on my phone is becoming unwieldy 🤣so I've saved it as a pdf to admire in the future 🤣 and I'm rejigging the note to make it useful once again. Silly thing, really, but its a lot more .... um, wieldy.

I went to my new environmental group, in a nearby village: which meant I went on a bus! I used my pass too 🤣 got a lift back, hurray, and the lady concerned also offered me info about cars on Which, and a drive to a dealer if necessary. We'll see how that pans out, the members are all friendly like that, and the guy who called the meet is very keen to remind us of how he ran his own business 🤣
He likes me because I presented the Hansard report we were talking through at 3 minutes notice and didn't fluff it 🤣 the compliments became slightly weird.
Still, it was brilliant to have a face to face meet, and I was really surprised to find people agreed with me politically in this area. Very pleasant surprise.
I'm shattered after all of that and shower/shampoo immediately I got in, so nothing much doing.
I *am* looking at how many different foods I eat during the week - the recommendation from somewhere or other is 30. I can reach that, but just checking what my stocks are, I realise its very easy to get complacent. I'm looking forward to mixing it up, though.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Ooh, that sent me down a rabbit hole. I looked at a chart of winter veg and another of fruit (not winter). I hit 20 by counting what we had yesterday plus the things in the fridge and that didn't include the nuts and seeds I will consume this week. Most encouragingSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

I've heard that nuts, herbs and spices count as well so if for instance you sprinkle paprika and parsley on top of lentils or chickpeas that's another two added to the total.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
