Atm some tiny sprouting potatoes are begging to be grown rather than eaten - Having successfully grown these in bags during lockdown these will be potted up soon!

Have just discovered that the seeds I'd been chilling before germination have been moved to the warm boiler cupboard.  OH is not in my good books atm so we will have to revisit what will be grown this year!

Sorry to hear about your seeds madvix  ... I must admit, I wanted to plant these ages ago, but I know, from my general doziness, there'd be issues with early planting, so I haven't worried too much about delaying.  I'm planting kale, chard, courgette and land cress now, then very shortly I'll do sunflowers, nasturtiums, cornflowers, and breadseed poppies.  Nigella and ransoms will be sown directly into the ground, as they've succeeded in naturalising, and I have the seeds stored anyway :)

    And now ... cornmeal!

Potatoes are *such* a good idea!  But uh oh to OH thinking your chilling seeds needed the warm boiler.  The road to (pre-censored) is paved with good intentions.  Doh!

I think you’re probably still a bit early for courgette and sunflowers - I’d leave them until nearer the end of the month/next month. The courgettes won’t go out until end of April at the earliest - I’d probably wait until beginning of May - and they grow quickly, so you might end up with very leggy seedlings if you plant now. Not so sure about the other flowers - the kale, chard land cress should be ok as they are pretty hardy. Things planted a bit later (even early May) tend to catch up quickly once the weather warms up.

That's good to know, thank you.  I'll check all the other dates, for sure.

Haven't done anything between then and now: next door's dog had been brought into the house from his shed, and was barking and whining.  I think he was alone about two hours.  They're back, all's quiet now.  Nice big lunch for me to cope with it :) I hope the dog got something nice too.

    There are some accomplishments!  Yay!

    1. I spent Sat and Sun morning painting in the office - not a long period of time, but using up this tin of white emulsion.  It looks *so* much better: still only half done, because I only do an hour at a time, but still better.

    2. Went a walk on Sunday.  Plus emailing lots with Brixton friend.

    3. Baby HW is slowly building up - when I say "slowly", for example I won 3p today 🤣

    4. Put in an Asda order, more food cupboard than anything else, and I'm about to go back in and put postage stamps on there - Martin tells me they're going up again on 3rd April, by 15%, which is a *lot* compared to this time last year.  Also need to buy some posh chocolate for sharing, for a family do on Easter Sunday.

    5. Ordered more AA and AAA batteries from Amazon, I do like the eneloops, they hold their charge so well.

    6. Cornmeal: nope, I didn't have a pan clean, both my stainless steel pans were in the dishwasher 🤣 but still, success!  I cooked the quinoa, found a sieve that's fine enough in my cupboard, though quantities were a bit dodgy - a *lot* of cold water got used.  I'll investigate using less water by using hot water instead.  Result was good, though more water was needed during the cooking process.  Happy camper here.

Plans: amending the Asda order, finally planting the seeds, cleaning the bathroom as my sister is coming around tomorrow: a walk, or picture sorting, weather dependent.  Some emails - now I've started up some local links, I have to maintain them, which is what I find hard.  YG survey.  Eyeing up window coverings, as ever, but really doubting I'll do anything 🤣

You don't rinse it at all, apple?

If boxed, it is normally pre-rinsed to remove the bitter/soapy tasting chemical coating, but I would always give it a quick rinse, to be sure. I never soak though

Thanks for that, SL!  Yes, I don't think I'd soak, per se, the bits are so tiny.  I'd leave it long enough to make sure the hot water did its thing with the saponified outer layer, though 🙄  good heavens!

Been a-walking today, and got the sofa covers on.  I washed the cushion covers that came with, but not the cover of the body, so to speak.  Did I think it was too big to go in the washing machine?  Possibly.  Its on, now though, and its not currently coming off 🤣  The cushion covers seem to be really easy to put on, but the main body is an absolute nightmare.  Such is life.

Asda: I've gained an £8 voucher from the Rewards scheme, hurray, expires in 3 months.  Got a stupendous survey on YG as well: 210 points, pleased with that.  The odd 40p on one of the Happy Wheels.

And I've just got some washing out on the line - its late in the day, but it needed doing, so hopefully the worst of the damp will go.

Two birthdays this month, posted one card yesterday, the other will go tomorrow - and still using old stamps, which I enjoy 🦕  **nerdbrain**

I may be about to buy a new dvd player from Curry's, but I might also want to be able to record programmes still, so further research needed.
