I didn't, I couldn't hack it with my painful shoulder, but I did have an open tin of half-peaches, and I had two of those and lots of sugary syrup.  That will do nicely 🍊  **slurp**

I did nothing yesterday that was worthy of description on here - taking anti-inflammatories was my main job, oops.  Which meant I had a terrible sleep, more oops.  Still, dishwasher is on, living room and kitchen floor have been swept: I have a bit of a problem, I used a needle to open up the superglue that put a temporary mend on the hole in the pantry, and the needle, I think, is on the floor somewhere.  I'll keep on looking, and hope I've put it away and not remembered.  Always something!

I've had news that all the ill family members have started to get better, or at least bottomed out, so I'm happy with that.

This afternoon, after lunch, a walk if it isn't raining too badly, bit of baking, we'll see.  I'd like to carry on looking for the needle 😲🙄  Admin will be resumed tomorrow 🌞

Oh I hope the needle turns up! It’s such a worry, especially with the cat on its way. My Nan was an avid sewer, needlecrafter etc and there were always pins on the floor or the sofa - it was a running joke in the family that you’d likely get stuck when visiting!

Very glad to hear family are moving in the right direction.

Thanks madvix - can't find the needle yet, I'll keep looking, but I have the feeling its been swept up or otherwise disposed of.  I don't think I put it back where I got it from - which is a lesson.

Had my walk - did a microwave sponge, a chocolate one this time, which was new-to-me.  Very strong, it was great.

    £50 PB win!  Very nice.

And my work on the pantry included 3 items on my big long to-do list, which I'm happy about.  To encourage me to get going tomorrow, this is my list:
    - do a quick Waitrose shop, for sweeties for when my-niece-the-cat-owner visits, plus I need teabags, feta and marmite :)
    - B&Q shopping basket sitting waiting for me, mostly because of a new doormat I need.  This one is 100% jute - lots of things say they're 100%, but this one really is.
    - email French management company.  This is the second time they've sent me an invoice which says "vous n'avez rien a regler", which means "you don't have anything to pay".  So, why are they sending me invoices for around E130?  I need to put that into passable French, because I really want to know.
    - French figures are ready to put into English accounts.  The rest, I'll do Friday.  I have to ease back in!
    - outside the pantry is a lot of very old ant powder.  I'll clean that with water, then soap, and on Friday I'll clean it with vinegar.
    - get the rubbish out for Friday.
    - booked a phone call with sister.

Doing the list now lets me get going first thing, and I need it!

The French management company invoices are mystifying!

If you’ve used warm soapy water on the ant powder, do you need to do the vinegar as well? Seems like a lot of work!

    Hello lovely people :)

Alchemilla, very good question, and I'm touched that you're even now thinking about other people's ways of going forward.

    So here we are!

    January
Always it's own month: English and French accounts, insurance renewal.  Plus this year I (should) have my niece's cat for 10 days or so, while she's away with my sister. I *have* to give the kitchen pantry a severe clean, between ant killer and mould, probably crucial for the cat's health, and mine too.  Also January, possible trip back to Liverpool, and possible rolling family emergency popping it's head up again, I hope that doesn't coincide with travel for any of us.

    Travel
Brother is gifting me his 5 year old roadbike :) that will be great come spring, if he can get it down here.  Sister and I will probably have an AirBNB holiday, as usual a self contained cottage somewhere close.  Trip to the Norfolk rellies would be nice, I had covid during the last one and couldn't go.  Might well be doing a fortnight's trip to Ireland!  I've only been once, and I need to remember not to plan distances too much: like this country, there's massive amounts available within 5-10 miles or so.

    Car
Yep, I'm thinking of it again, the finances add up better than I thought.  I still need refresher lessons, of course, and need to work out what would suit me, and whether I could even cope with car-ownership given my fatigue levels, but I'd like it to happen, I do *not* like being stuck in this town dependent on public transport and other people visiting, nice as they both are.  If I get 5 years out of a car, it could be the best money I ever spent.

    Woo hoo, socialising
Because of the car and the bike, and having done so much in the house these last few months, I feel like a little bit more is on the cards for the first time in a long time.

    House
I need a sofa!  IKEA, as soon as I've put down the underlay tiles I've got - after the cat's visit :) I need repairs to my guttering!  If a narrow waterbutt I already have could be attached during that process, after repairing the patio just outside the kitchen, I would be such a happy bunny.

    Garden
I'm ahead of where I was last winter with the garden - difficult to be out there at the moment, my face hurts for hours/days afterwards.  Neuralgia, caused by shingles.

    Hobbies
    Gardening, yep.
    Genealogy.
Reading, I like it, what can I say 🤣
Writing.  I like that too 😛
Learning a few more recipes.  I won't call it "cookery" 🤣
Crafting, knitting etc ad infinitum.  Encouraged by the furoshiki!  I want more :)
U3A, including the spaceflight group.  Yeah, baby.
Fitness.  Yeah, right.  I do have some dance DVDs.

    These are spectacular plans!

If I may offer unsolicited - if the IKEA sofa is loose covered buy spare covers while they still have the colours you like 🙂

Agreed 🤣  I may have been over-egging the pudding on this one.

A good thought!  Though it's not about colour, which is neutral (aka boring) in the extreme.  I decided not to go for the multicoloured option from wayfair - this way, I can ring my own changes.  I have a lot of scarves/throws/material, including one throw I used in the past that I knitted myself :)
