I'm doing some editing of a genealogical biography, to make sure I do nothing physical 🤣 it's of my dad, who was up and down the eastern and southern Mediterranean coasts during WW2 as a Leading Aircraftman. Italian opera singers, Arab tribal leaders exiled to Egypt, learning to drive on campaign, arriving for leave at home in a bombing raid, nicking a flag off a Russian staff car 🤣 you'd never have thought it, I'm so surprised I managed to ask him so many questions.2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Fascinating stuff! Sounds not dissimilar to my granddad’s experiences as a navigator in the RAF - we have photos of the pyramids from his postings!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh wow! My dad was always at a listening post ... but I wonder if he ever drove past a base where your granddad was posted? That would be something. I've abandoned it for the evening, I've come to the bit where my notes are really messed up, so I'm faffing now2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Right, I'm back to doing stuff - I'm halfway through a lot of things - cleaning the pantry, coating the shelves in a bleach solution, decluttering the pantry so the mould is less likely to happen, cleaning the shopping that was delivered yesterday. There's also some Christmas cards that were delivered yesterday, time to open them now
I would really like for the downstairs to be more or less in order for NYE.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

🤣🤣🤣 very good!
Two achievements today, and I might leave it there, actually:
- the baby Happy Wheel I play on every day, has decided to gift me £17 today! I was about to withdraw some dosh, so I've gone ahead and withdrawn £22. Very happy about that.
- although it's only the day after my shopping was delivered, I've managed to clean it all, and the soapy water is now drying off it. I haven't done it as quickly as that for a long time, so I'm pleased with that. But its not just my energy - it's because £100 doesn't go nearly as far as it used to! I'm just pleased I won't need to buy anything until after the cat's gone2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Decided to carry on: emptied the pantry completely, including things hanging on the side walls, did a rough clean of the tiny window - the surround is horrible, like the plaster's fallen off. I have some grout to use on the floor, which will hopefully stop the ants coming in, I'll give the window a go too. Or maybe the sealant, which is flexible, of course. All 3 shelves are drying, and I'm going to spray them with vinegar. I'm shattered! Eating a lot of protein helped, I'm a divvil for that 🤣2023: the year I get to buy a car5

Happy New Year everyone 🌞
So, I've been burning up WhatsApp all over the planetand after I'm sprayed some white vinegar on the shelves, I'm off out for a walk, it's not raining, which is the equivalent of "sunshine all day everywhere" at the moment.

Happy new year! Glad you haven't got any rain - it's been absolutely bucketing down here all morning (I don't mind, I'm not going anywhere today anyway!) Enjoy your walk
