Waah!
That is 2 weeks at the old rate & 50 at the new.
You've lost me there, but that's a pretty easy thing to do, to be honest with you
But if your raise entitlement date was 12th April then the payment at the beginning of May should have been all 4 weeks.
That's what I thought!I went & checked the dates. That Monday was 5th April & was Easter Monday & you should have received it on the Thursday before & the May one should have been received on the Friday. I think your bank is holding up payments. Can you check that your NI no ends in 00 to 19 which will tell you if your pay day really is Monday.
Nope, it doesn't end 00 to 19, I'm afraid. I'll message it to you if you want, but I don't want to put even a partial up here on a public thread...I know I am sounding a bit petty about this but if your bank is holding up payments you should know about it.
Now I've arrived at a balance of some sort, I'm not inclined to challenge anything - I think of it as a tax I have to pay because I'm late in sorting it out. If I checked this stuff within a week or so of it arriving, I'd have much more chance of sorting it - this is 20 months ago we're talking about now
And that's what I *will* do from now on, check my account weekly, I've been too trusting of these big companies to get their arithmetic right, and of *course* they can't be trusted.
I still have to check the closure of the Virgin account - I sent them £3,600, and as far as I can see they've only sent back £3,000 plus a tenner or so in interest.2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
This does not necessarily apply if you are on the old basic state pension but does if you are on the new.The last 2 digits of your NI No tell you your pay day. As in 00-19, 20-39, 40-59, 60-79 & 80-99 in that order Monday to Friday. With the old basic state pension these apply unless you made changes. Such as inherited some from a spouse or postponed taking it.For example, I am on the basic SP & my NI No ends in 45 so my pay day should be Wednesday, but I didn't take it for 5 years which increased its value, because of that my payday is Friday. With the new SP your payday doesn't change.I am full of useless information!3

Coo! I'm on the new state pension, badmemory, and I'm in the second lot of numbers, the 20-39, so it should be Tuesday?
Not useless information! But also not information I'm going to use right now. I *swear* that from now on, I'll run a weekly check on my current account. Probably be best to do it midweek - Weds or Thur, since hopefully there'll be fun times this year, as opposed to pandemic times.
Having some of those by proxy right now, watching my sister's cruise ship, the pilot boat has just drawn up!2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
I'm finding it fascinating @badmemoryFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Today, once again very early waking and very slow to get going, though I have a cheapfood delivery I have to sort - I think that waiting for that yesterday (delivery between 4-5pm) discombobulated me, I hate late deliveries, my problem but there it is.
Puddy cat still being incredibly well behaved - 5 minutes play, food and a bit of water, and off he pops. I might take his bed upstairs: he sleeps on his Harry Potter fleece downstairs, and he sleeps on my bed upstairs when I'm not there 🤣 but he won't get on the bed when I'm in it (which part of me is grateful for!). He definitely wants to be there, though, so I'll experiment with the bed upstairs😺

He's lovely, isn't he! Still upstairs, he doesn't eat for the sake of it
I've given myself a bit of a slow day, and before the rain started, I finally started getting together a frame for the rhubarb - it's not quite a raised bed, it's just leftover strips of wood from old fence panels, that I've nailed to four big corner chunks of wood. It won't be very high as is, though I could add a second storey 🤣 I've done the two long sides, now I need to actually get my saw out to cut the shorter sides to size. I've been thinking about it for ages, and it actually took about ten minutes 🤣 I'm starting to put semi-decomposed leaf mould in there, and then I'll put compost and part of a bag of manure I need to use up. The rhubarb is starting to grow, so it's the right time. Lots of worms too ⭐ I can't see this will last very long, but its literally cost me nothing - old fence panels, and some leftover carpet tacks. All good2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
I had a catching up day today, after a couple of days rest after the frantic pantry-cleaning and cat welcoming. It was nice! So:
- ran the dishwasher *again*, almost caught up now.
- cleaned up after Lovely Moggie - bits of food, cat litter, blah blah.
😺
- cleaned most of the cheapfood shop that came along the other day. 4 big Xmas puddings, that kills me - 1.2 kilos each (for £2 each) , and they're 40% dried fruit, so not terrible 🤣
- sorted my French 2022 invoices, which I need straight to do the accounts, ahem, quite a few double downloads.
- sorted my ambitious lists out - I had one on my One Drive and one on my phone, as well as the one on here 🙄 it's not useful when the admin is like that.
- Lovely Moggie has definitely discovered how to look out of the windows, and how to get onto each windowsill. Clever puss.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Lovely Moggie has also discovered the door to the second bedroom - he just didn't recognise it as a door before **fond looks**. I needed stuff from there, and I *can't* let him roam at will, or at all, in there, because all the sharp things from the pantry are hidden in there. But he wants in. Real bad 🤣
Apart from that, I've realised that I don't use a handbag any more - and in addition, I didn't know where my purse was, I shop online with a cc, and it just felt like I'd gone too far down that path. So I got together the makings of a handbag - money, water, cleaning stuff, keys that fit in a pocket, nonsense like that. Seems silly, but it took ages.
Oh, and booked in to a National Archives zoom even tomorrow, about how to use their website - its so big, and the indexing system is so unwieldy (to me, anyway) that I have tremendous difficulty doing anything on there. Booked a phone call with bruv in morning, so all good.2023: the year I get to buy a car1
