Nice sofas😍 and you have done loads.2

A simple tidy neutral/boring bit of furniture that you can accessorise has to be the right way to go KC. It's an item that should hopefully last you a good many years, and fashions and tastes change over time. Timeless capsule wardrobes rely on a solid foundation of basics then accessorising, applying the same logic to a sofa has to make sense. The accessories can be as wacky as you like, and if you really go to town the foundation beneath will be invisible! Good call in my opinion 🙂3

Thanks both! Yes, SSS, that was my thinking - I didn't think of the phrase "capsule wardrobe" but you're spot on, it's exactly the same - get the good basics and accessorise all you like
From yesterday's list, I still need to do the French management company email, and the tax figures - and I do want to have another go at the old ant powder, which is in some very unpleasant crevices around the sealant at the back door 🤣
But at least I've had the dishwasher on, and got the washing machine on now, the Christmas deccies are all down, though not put away, every scrap of recycling that was available went into the recycling bin, it's something.
One little piece of computer learning: because I can't open up Open Office to edit documents any more, I thought I'd lost the ability to make my own pdf documents: but if I upload a Word or Open Office document to One Drive, and choose how to download it again immediately, I can make it into a pdf and then download it. It suits my genealogy work, and I'm very pleased
Today: the French bits and bobs, and .... the garden! Green bin starts up again next Tuesday, the garden has reappeared from the snow, there's been no torrential downpours for a few days now, I can start again.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Good luck with the garden 🙂3

Thanks Alchemilla! I confess, I didn't do a thing, and I've come on here for a little rant, which is in the next post 🙄2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I will never use B&Q again: a reminder of why
I made an order of just under £44, including a sizeable delivery charge: this has resulted in *three* deliveries! Only got two so far. No wonder delivery drivers have been hard to come by!
The number of deliveries is partly because I ordered several small things - compost, the doormat I've been waffling about, a paint tray and a wide paintbrush - and several of these things aren't sold by B&Q any more, they were from the "marketplace", and I didn't recognise the code for this of "this item is not stocked in our shops". Now I know why. If I'd known there'd be 3 deliveries, I'd have done things completely differently. I can more or less understand two, because two bags of compost is bulky.
The guys who've just been wanted a signature. An actual signature! I know we're post-pandemic, but really? And no, I don't want a flipping copy.
When I queried their practices (okay, I wasn't as polite as that, I was a bit shocked and annoyed by this point) the driver sneered at me. Blew out his cheeks and rolled his eyes, the whole bit. I'm not a happy bunny. Supermarket delivery people are very understanding of pandemic precautions. This. Guy. Was. Not.
I haven't had a delivery email yet (and judging by their request for a signature, I may not get one!) If I get a feedback request, I'll use this post as a reference for what I want to write, to be honest.
Unusually, I'm quite narked at Waitrose too, they broke some eggs in the box, which means I can't recycle the cardboard.
And breathe.2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
Hurray, moggie is here
So, I have a lot of equipment here temporarily ... carry box, litter tray, store of litter, wet food, dry food, dentistix, bowls, floor protection, a throw he uses, a couple of toys and catnip spray to put on them - he's only been rehomed for 8 months, so he's not that used to toys, but he's chased the string, he's fine.
He's under my bed, of course 😺 so I'm going to try to get some admin done, it's getting a bit urgent now ...2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Pics please (when he's emerged!)
How long is he staying with you for?
And how's the rest of the family? Still recovering well, I hope.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
