That's not cool at all. Why do people think they can say such things?! We're lucky that we're in a swing seat (currently blue, but I can't see it staying that way - we have a long-tiem Lab council) - neither is 'my' preferred choice, but at least opinions and attitudes aren't ingrained here. If we'd have moved to Norfolk, our MP would have been the no. 1 stupid woman in the country.... and we'd definitely have had no luck changing that... except to a similarly blue individual.Watty1 said:Karmacat said:No casual photos at work in those days 🤣 but looking at other photos, I must have worked there from 1985 to 1986, I know I only stayed about a year.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

if they dont expect you to talk politics after today then you could be inclined to think your living in a dystopian world2

Madvix, elantan - yes to both, to all that you've said
And I love the small world thing.
I managed to catch my herbal webinar, it was a bit tricky as I kept the news on, because you know what was happeningthe webinar was great, I'm glad I tried them again, I attended a very dodgy one of theirs last year. It's reminded me I have an actual *book* full of advice about the use of herbs in anti-viral situations. Must actually open the reference books I buy 👀
Anyway, I've cooked the beans, but late - washed my hair, which is a palaver, didn't cut it this time unfortunately - but I did do it in the morning, to let all the moisture evaporate before the evening. Sadly not done much else, don't know where the time's gone. Fiddly stuff is the bane of my life!2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
I keep smiling at what a tiny world it is in that we both worked at the same place a few months apart, if that!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
It really is, isn't it. I've bumped into people I already knew on holiday occasionally, but this is another level ⭐2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Packing again ... just an overnight at my sister's, so that she doesn't have to cart me about instead of me being on the bus. I was wondering about finally using the bus, and if I was just meeting her for a walk, I might finally dare it
but it doesn't fit in with bus times - it's more important it fits in with the baby's sleep patterns 🌈 Otherwise, without tiring myself too much, just trying to make the house nice to come back to tomorrow, so I can relax and head straight in to the weekend.

So, the visit to my sister's for the little family celebration was splendiferous, she and I shared the costs of the "Cook" catering - 8 x mains - for £34, it was all so fresh, texture still there, portions were proper-sized, it was excellent. I looked after the baby on my own just for the first ten minutes or so, while unpacking went on - she likes wriggling 🐣 she's not trying to get down, she just likes wriggling 🥰 it was *such* fun.
Tired now, of course, and cleaning up after everything. I'll faff about with this that and the other, nothing big. And it's raining, and the day started with thunder. Not too much is going on outside!2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Ooh, that does sound splendiferous indeed! Keep warm and dry today ☂️.

Thanks both! My sister did her famous orange and almond cake, which was a lovely dessert. It was a gorgeous way to spend the day.

- U3A space group, check on transport/zoom and my presentation on lava tubes 😎
- this political thing - the guy wants to meet for a coffee. I'll meet for a walk or a sit on the bench. I keep trying to be polite and I may still have offended him 🤐 I'll see.
- a few emails.
- bit of cleaning, bit of weeding
- coconut loaf cake, I found some more dessicated coconut!
- get flu jab appointment, they texted me
- exercise over winter: find my dance DVDs, need to get moving for flexibility, circulation, even digestive system.2023: the year I get to buy a car2
