I love that! Thanks for putting that one in, Suffolk Lass2023: the year I get to buy a car2
-
Today I have:
- nattered with sister, and as a result:
- ordered some stuff from a travel clothing firm - the dreaded mosquito hat, a Craghopper fleece for £5, natural insect repellent bands for wrists and ankles, and .... a balaclava. That will stop my facial neuralgia killing me! It's often 3 degrees out there, even in July.
- tidied recycling out of the house and into the bin.
- put the courgettes outside to have some sun, and brought them in again when it turned out they weren't keen.
- got some washing out.
- did the Happy Wheel.
- opened the post, finally! U3A have realised no one wants a printed magazine, this should be the last one, the other stuff is all about finances - premium bond win this month, the new credit card, and a cash account is maturing, I'll have to decide what to do with that.
- sorting photographs into piles, and checking out a tiny little photo album from the 1930s.
I've actually *done* very little, not even much fun stuff. I'll get the dishwasher going and onwards to other stuff.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Well done, KC. Busy bee!3

I'm wondering how the courgettes told you they weren't keen on being outside!'I've actually *done* very little, not even much fun stuff. I'll get the dishwasher going' - I sincerely hope that getting the dw going does not count as 'fun stuff'!!!!!

Courgettes are telepathic, didn't you know
Erm, realistically, they were wilting!'I've actually *done* very little, not even much fun stuff. I'll get the dishwasher going' - I sincerely hope that getting the dw going does not count as 'fun stuff'!!!!!I watched some Outlander, and I followed a hobby - genealogy. The sea really took its toll on the branch of the family I'm working on - so, inquest reports, newspaper descriptions, and *understanding* someone's life. It's not "fun" in the sense of a fairground, but I like it

I'm trying to make today a work day, making the days different from one another:
- admin chat with sister, so I rejigged my extremely verbose email to her about AirBNB, and did some research on what we can do after the birthday party for the Norfolk rellie.
- tidied up the washing hanging around, including putting sox out on the line, which I very rarely do
- Happy Wheel had nothing to offer me today
- Boots delivery of travel stuff is due between 10.20am and 2.20pm today - I'm watching like a hawk, my doorbell is capricious, lets say
- oh, one bit of the money shuffle left to do.
Later
- ahem. There's still some shopping I need to clear away.
- pack the green bin as full as I can, collection day is tomorrow. Have to be careful about that, because of the Boots delivery, I can't get stuck at the back of the house - travel sickness pills mean the stuff has to be signed for.
- I'm wondering about making polenta, I have a lot of it kicking around. It would be nice to use it. We'll see, I'm not convinced that's going to happen, I'm reading a really good book for an online book group2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
Boots parcel has turned up. No travel sickness tabs, no paracetemol, no mosquito defence wrist bands (though I've also ordered those from the travel firm, so ...) really bad.2023: the year I get to buy a car2

What?? That's awful! (One wonders what was in it if so much was missing!) Will it come in another parcel or have they just cancelled these items? That is *so* poor.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
'Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is.' Ernest Hemingway2 -
It's weird, isn't it! They do say to leave 3 days before a parcel doesn't turn up (which is gobsmacking in its own right) but there were never 2 parcels tracking, just one, so something's gone badly wrong. I'll phone them tomorrow.
Plus I just had an email from them saying that my advantage points were about to expire next week (convenient for them). So they had an offer on good quality Nivea moisturiser-with-spf15, better than my usual stuff, originally £11.49, currently 2 for £15. And I had exactly £15 points available - too much to lose. £15 is also the cutoff for free collection, so I can do that.
I rejigged my email to my sister, minimum verbiage, and she's booked the cottage for the Norfolk rellie stay. I've also made a few notes about a little bit of touristy stuff while we're there, always like to fit some in
Rats, I forgot to do the money shuffle, because I was looking out for the Boots parcel.
Green bin successful - neighbour pulled it over the road to the collection point, bless him, and I filled it up with 5 bucketloads - I wait till the day before, it's his bin, after all. About 20% more of the garden is once again accessible, the cats are walking there already
No polenta, no reading for online book group, I worked hard at the green bin stuff.
