Hello everyone! I hope a Merry Christmas was had by all, and people aren't feeling too strained by the festivities. I didn't manage to come back on here before I left for my sister's, to wish everyone seasonal loveliness, so it's really kind of people to come on and send their own. Thank you
Lovely Christmas was had - quiet, just the 3 of us - so there were presents, many different types of food (80% veggie, hurray), travel chat, rabbit chat, cat chat. I got a bit exhausted, and had to come home early, but as my sister said, I'd gone along on the 24th to give her a break from doing *all* the driving on Christmas Day - but she was out for hours on Christmas Eve evening, helping a 98 year old neighbour who'd had to go to A&Epoor guy. She did it for a neighbour, doesn't mind doing it for me. Family 🌞🌈🌻

Been reading Cheery's Uber Frugal posts on her new diary ... it's making me think. I'm more at *Mister* Cheery's life stage, though not with a partner, and I find I'm writing myself off because of age and feeling the chronic fatigue feelings so frequently. But that means its even more important to make the most of things - and if I do it sensibly, it will help my health.
So I may be joining in Uber Frugal January after all - though the next few weeks have their own timetable, for sure (English accounts, French accounts, rabbit sitting, packing/unpacking for rabbit sitting, 2nd Christmas with those currently in Scotland). I might take a bit of extra time today to do a bit more tidying up after Christmas, I left the house in an absolute *state* - especially the office and the 2nd bedroom. Today, I *have* managed to clean the hob, and the kitchen sink, and more or less catch up on washing.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

Thanks debtfree
I've taken it very easy today, it's going well.
I've got my little list of Things To Do this week, before I pay attention to King Rabbit - I did two things today - changed the duvet cover, which means the bed is now clean, and a real surprise - emptied out the bathroom cabinet and chucked and re-assembled like it was going out of stylefelt ridiculously good to do it. Changing the duvet cover was on the list, and clearing the bathroom cabinet helps because I have new toiletries gifted to me, and now I have space for them
Something else on my list is to buy a new printer - argh! The reviews on Amazon are agonising - lots of short five star reviews, and tortuous tales of failed printing with two stars or less, which are obviously the *real* reviews. You have to pay for the printer, pay for the ink, **and** pay for the privilege of using your equipment in your own home, which Apple calls Air Print, and others give different names (HP says Instant Ink)? Totally confusing. I might even have to speak with someone. I only need to print about half a dozen things a year, but like with the Sainsbury mastercard fiasco, when I need it, I *really* need it. I'm wondering if there's a service I can pay for, frankly - I don't want it to be something else for which I rely on my sister ...2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

Our library does too. I've used this place a bit for printing longer documents, but they've usually been eg spiral bound workbooks - I'm not sure the postage would be worth it for just a couple of pages. They've been brilliant though, and have a very quick turnaround (and usually send a chewy sweet in with the order
)

We used to have a print shop near our old house - they mainly did flyers, posters etc, but you could also just walk in with a PDF on memory stick and they'd print you a few pages. There might be something like that near you somewhere?
I agree printers are a menace - although (touch wood) our last two have been great. Not wireless though. We get (cheap) ink from Inkredible - partly because of the name3 -
Thanks for these, folks: the library is over the other side of town from me - hmm, I have a bus pass now. And public transport seems to be quite low risk. A definite idea. That online place looks very interesting, Cheery, and I'd certainly look at them for my genealogy book (sort of a private publication, so a very limited number of copies). I checked out the price of a single sheet, and you're right, it's not far off £5, so that's not a goer. Still really liking the idea of a chewy sweet though
Oh! Just went a-googling: lots and lots of local printers, and Rymans will certainly print one offs. Oh! My last printer, I bought it in an actual shop, on the actual high street of the town where I currently liveand I'd completely forgotten. I'd rather go to them for either service - a purchase of a printer or getting them to print something for me. Fantastic! They're a regional chain, with six branches. Happy Days 💚 could be very good environmentally too.

Too late to chip in here. We have an old HP-LJ printer that we can still get a cartridge for but only black and white and not looking for anything else unless we start looking to print 3d components for old motorhomes where we can't get parts any moreSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
