Aww, thank you all, lovely ones.  Birthday is actually tomorrow - when we arranged it, we picked that date so that she'd have me in her house *before* she went to a restaurant and sat within breathing distance of all and sundry.  She cancelled the meal in any case, so she could carry on seeing the new baby, but we decided to keep the same days.  She's coming over tomorrow on my *actual* birthday to go for a walk.

Very little of my list done today, though I did a *lot* of one thing - tidied the porch, by getting rid of envelopes and address labels torn off parcels so that they can be destroyed safely  :D it was all getting a bit much - very bad feng shui!  A couple of the most important emails written, dishwasher and washing machine both had outings.

It's astonishing how little I manage to do when I'm trying to focus on the domestic  :p

    Happy birthday!

Your birthday is always easy for me to remember, as it's the day before the anniversary of my retirement!  7 years tomorrow, time flies.

I'll be around for the next few weeks as I'm doing my traditional round up of the year, and a look forward to next year
