Thanks for the reminder, honey, I'm glad I haven't bought them yet - I wanted to see if my vaccination bollixed me. It doesn't seem to have so far - but in checking the delivery schedules, it does say expect in 3 -4 weeks anyway (or it did). I might order tonight so that I'm sure to get in.
Vaxx went well, very tiny wait of approx one minuteNHS I'm clean, my clothes are clean, even my pots and pans are clean

Hi beanie
good to see you
Life remained good - I put in the order at Sarah Raven, and managed to remember how big my eyes are, and how small my garden isno lemongrass, thank you! I'd love it, but ... no. So I have:
1 x 9cm pot of angelica
5 x seedlings basil
5 x seedlings culinary sage
12 x rooted cuttings of mint.
Even I've managed to grow basil from a supermarket purchase of £1.25, but I don't go to supermarkets these days, and if I do, I want it to be for something more important than a basil plant. So it goes. I have a sage plant, but it's potbound, and dying, sadly. This lot, there's few enough that I hope to plant them this year. 10% off, as RT mentioned. £4.95 standard delivery, which is good value, I think. A result! Signing off now to watch some tv and calm down
ETA - I used up the £17.01 in paypal too, that was useful.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Can you not order basil online? You can from Ocado. (Irrelevant as you’ve orderd it elsewhere, but I’d be surprised if you can’t get it from the supermarket).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I know, I know ... I haven't done it all in quite the most cost-efficient way, to be honest the vaccine was frying my brain, I feel really tired today. Never mind, I'll have a whole bed of mint in my side border, and a bed of sage at the bottom, with the angelica (there's already some thyme there, and a potentilla, and something sedum-y that the bees love). That'll do me. At the moment, my only issue is dishwasher/washing machine, food to eat, and the sun coming round to the patio so I can sit out. And paracetemol. Lots of paracetemol. I should have thought about how I've used supermarket basil in the past, but I just didn't. Impulse buying! Never mind - 5 seedlings for £5 is less than the supermarkets charge, and the delivery charge is so low, I can hack that.2023: the year I get to buy a car5

KC - if it makes you feel better, supermarket herbs can be a bit hit and miss when transplanting to the great outdoors. They have been coddled into a state of pampered existence and often get shocked by real light & water conditions and then shrivel up & die. From my experience, the plants supplied from growers are stronger even if more expensive! - RT xx4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thank you all! Yep, on reflection I'm still glad I did what I did - the whole point is to be low maintenance. Growing from seed really didn't go well for me
and starting to clean the house had once again been abandoned. This way is better!
Talking of perennials ... I still have a kilo or so of cooked rhubarb in the freezer from last yearand the current crop is nearing readiness, in spite of the weather. So I've taken it out - I feel a bit better today, enough so that I can try to make some crumble mix.
Otherwise ... the tidying the office has had an interesting effect - I've used one drawer of my desk to store my card stash, and realised I have loads of envelopes, and lots of card, and lots of glue - I may finally get round to making my own Christmas cards! As long as I earmark October for doing it
