Thank you both
I went out at the right time to do the Christmas lights walk, but it was a bit too busy, being Friday I suppose. I'll try again.

Hmm, I have some options today, and these are they, in a rough sort of descending order:
- cook the beans I put on to soak last night.
- change the bed. Too much washing laying about the house to actually wash the bedding, but I can make a start on it, at least.
- tidy up so I can clear the chunky stuff on the top of the bookcase, so I can put my arriving Christmas cards on there, out of the way.
- get some fresh air and do some tidying up in the garden, to use the green bin space on Tuesday.
That's plentyI think pootling around online might be the order of the day if I can genuinely accomplish that lot. Boots/Royal Mail have sent me tracking info for my little parcel of soaps and vitamins, it's very encouraging to know this stuff - not least because it's in South Yorkshire, so definitely won't get here today

I’ve something on the way from America and it’s quite therapeutic watching it cross the states. All gone quiet now so I assume it’s crossing the ocean 😂DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Thanks for that, debtfree! Good to know I'm not the only one that does it
and how fascinating to watch it bobbing about in America
I'm feeling ever so slightly blitzed today: my noisy neighbour is often noisy and I don't mention it, I don't like to dwell, but last night was odd. Lots of thumping about, tv was on loud, and then something that *never* happens at night: one of the dogs was whining. I can only imagine the dog was ill, and they were fetching blankets, medications, whatever, but I did eventually call out to lower the tv, since it was 2am. I'm sure they didn't hear me, they were creating such a racket, but doing it helps me relax.
Today, hmmm, even more of the tidying, I think, since Brexit pinged my spidey sense again. Didn't want to get up too early, so at 7am I was on the Asda app with an order for next Wednesday. I think it must have been a cancellation, and it was just too good to miss. I don't want to go back to using Click & Collect unless its absolutely unavoidable.2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -

Ouch, greent, thats a lot to read all at once
hope that wasn't too bad! I don't focus so tightly on financials, I suppose, and then people join in, which I absolutely love!
Financials today - the little Boots parcel arrived today. Haven't unpacked it yet, but the porch was clear of paperwork and recycling, so its stored safely for now. It gives me another box to use for webuybooks - I've got an Amazon one, and I'll keep this one too. Next time there's a discount weekend (I just missed one, sadly, but I'm sure there'll be more) I'll get rid of everything I can.
Today (I always feel like I should quote that WWII poem "Today we have naming of parts". Naming Of Parts Poem by Henry Reed - Poem Hunter but the link will do. Today is just phone call with sister, and green bin. If I have anything spare after that, its clearing the shopping from the porch, as there's more arriving on Wednesday
I don't want to think about shopping at all until the New Year. I said the NY thing! **runs away**

I just prepared the kitchen for our last grocery shop of the year! We will have a couple more weekly veg box deliveries but with today's shop there will be plenty in the house to see us through the next 3 weeks!
I couldn't justify paying the extortionate delivery prices for xmas/new year weeks so made the decision weeks ago that this would be our last shop for the year (no delivery charge - yeah!)
That being said - delivery is late & I've a meeting in 1/2 hour so this could be a fun afternoon4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!6 -
That's excellent, RT! At least, I hope the lateness of the delivery didn't ruin the excellence for you!
Putting some gardening scraps in the green bin made me realise that I was spoiled for choice about which work to do in the garden, oops - it really is still at the stage of needing an hour a day's work on it, sadly. Never mind, that should be do-able now, as long as its not raining/the soil isn't frozen. When the fencer gets here, I can retreat to doing work inside the house (there's a fair bit of bare plaster including one bit in the living room because of the kitchen steelI was only able to do that single wodge of 1hr 15m on the bin, so its not nearly full, but the next one will be.
And there we are with London in Tier 3. I'm so glad I managed to back out graciously.
