Good work on your ta-da list KC! I love to 'see' the progress other's make in 'real time' - makes me more comfortable with my own rate of ta-da-ing 😊
I had a good chuckle about your conversation burn-out! (Not because you are burned out but because it's so similar to my current state!) Atm several people whom I find draining want to chat badly - and the ones I want to chat with are suffering conversation burn-out like you are!

Given the money's safe and you can withdraw the funds it seems like a smart move to me. And you're right, there's precious little reward chasing that elusive extra 0.1%...

I totally get the socialising over-exposure thing. We’re seeing quite a bit of DH’s family at the moment, and my immediate family, and that’s pretty much enough for me. Did see a friend very briefly yesterday, but she’s a much of an introvert as we are, so easy company! I know we’ve said we’d meet up with others, but I’ve not acted on it as it’s such an exhausting prospect!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I love you people, I really do
**beams happily**
This morning is a day for chasing the postbox - my sister and I have forgotten to post a card to the youngest tiddler in the bunch, argh. Luckily, I've cards for that! While I'm at it, I might manage to get other things ready for the postbox, but we'll see - birthday comes first. At least he's too young to understand a late cardvery oops. Otherwise, my neighbour's gone on holiday for a week, so I can attack my border at the front from both sides, woo hoo.

Ha ha - at least you remembered the birthday KC - nobody in my family has any expectations of my birthday wishes ever being on time (except mom - lol)
You'll laugh KC, but my current strategy for personal conversations is to ration to one (max two) a day - with a timer on for the ones that need curtailing - I've started saying 'I need to get the lunch/dinner/cake out of the oven' to the energy vultures - but I've been skyping with a gin & tonic in hand for those amazing people who leave me feeling buoyed! - ROFL - Chatty plan rationing sees me doing only one a day for the next five days - with an exceptional extra bereavement call today.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Great strategy RT, especially the G&T!
Be kind to yourself KC - the card being late is not the end of the world (my mum is like RT - never on time and I even had to remind her when I spoke to her on our wedding anniversary that it was our anniversary!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks all! Turns out I'm not as far out on the bell curve as I thought I was, then! I'm happy about that! Though I confess it wasn't me that remembered - my sister rang me, oops
I absolutely *love* the idea of doing it with a drink in hand, ha - though I doubt I'll be skypeing anyone ...
RT, sorry to hear there's a bereavement - hope you're okay. Bereavements spawn phone calls, too, its a time to take extra care.I've been hiding from the sun, plus I ate too much at lunch - but I'm going to have a snack anyway, ha, since my gadgets have been working for me - backing up, using the slow cooker, using the dishwasher. And then I *will* do a little bit of the border at the front. Have a lovely weekend/ evening all2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

...incredibly upset that it's not currently possible just to hop on a plane & go across the pond to attend the service and be with them in person...
...2 week quarantine at each end means there is no point in even trying...
...but it is what it is - accepting and moving on are the important lessons here.
Hope you had a fabulous weekend & got out and about on Saturday in the sunshine as yesterday was dreary & meh! The gray sky forced me to stay inside & catch up on the dratted ironing pile! - today's sun means laptop outside with the garden table as my desk & another load drying on the whirly-gig!

Me again
RT, yes, it would be the most natural thing in the world, wouldn't it, to hop on a plane. My own family were lucky in that - nieces in law who were bereaved are Irish and Scottish respectively, so driving and ferry in one case, and driving in the other.
I expanded my horizons a little bit this morning, which is why I'm on comparatively late for me - sister visited! We went for a walk in this **glorious** sunshine, found my local village is having an "Open Front Gardens" festival - ie you don't have to leave the pavement! - its on till mid September, so I have plenty of time to go see it. We were out for almost two hours, which is much better than I've done before, and I also searched my stores and found her a set of disposable gloves, she hadn't been able to get any, felt good about getting them to her.Otherwise, I'm focussing on a few of the finance jobs, and clearing the front border, lots of digging, then mulching eventually - I don't want to do this after the fencer has been, and anyway I can attack it from both sides right now, as the neighbour's car will be gone all week.2023: the year I get to buy a car5
