Thanks Beanielou. Sorry to hear about your furry family. Take care of yourself too.It has been a surreal time for my Brorther & SIL- this whole strange period wasn't really how they envisioned it to be when welcoming their 1st baby (SIL had health issues during her pregnancy too). All fine though. Baby snuggles are the best - very glad I live close by! So many changes in him already.Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Thank you taka
I hope you're doing okay day to day, to be mourning someone in these times, someone as close as your dad, must add another layer to it all.
Surreal is a good word for an awful lot of it. When lockdown was first starting to be lifted, the media was saying the new rules were confusing - I didn't think they were, not particularly, but **now** it might as well all be in Martian - cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, public transport, they all have differing rules on face masks. It's not really an issue for me - I have a cup of tea when I'm out with my sister for the day visiting museums in London or what have you, but thats all, so thats not a tightrope I have to walk. But I keep an eye out for it all because it all affects community transmission.Today - hmmm, I'd like to back up the old computer, it's what I've been using since I got back online, but its started shutting down again - 3 times yesterday. I've a lot of new downloads, including genealogy ones, that I'd hate to lose. Also a few mask patterns! The perennial tidying/putting shopping away now its dry, all that. Some times on here first, I was up a bit late so I'm a bit late on everything, but I'm doing okay with it all.Hope everyone has a good day.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

This time round I skipped out on Sainsb0s after the unpacking stress incurred last time round, with no bags being used! We gave 0cad0 another go & amazingly, only one item missing & one very acceptable substitution! Thank goodness that account was active due to orders I do for work! We even nabbed some 1/2 price posh fruit and cheese platters I'd not ordinarily buy - OH was so pleased about that buy that I'm still laughing (to myself) - we have fruit & cheese in the house, but the fact that it was all cut up made it more palatable?! Go figure😂😂😂 - can't even comprehend the weird things that become special when shielding!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!4 -
That's brilliant to hear, RT, thanks for that
I put it in the porch, nicely stacked, wash it there and don't take it through to the kitchen – and I confess, last week was the first time I'd immediately washed the porch floor after finishing it all off. I do think biweekly (fortnightly?) will be good for me.
I've just had 24 hours of “new social” activity, and I'm worn out! Long conversation with bro, finally, a chat with the nice neighbour immediately after that, then this morning the fencer arrived – I've been clearing the house a bit in case he was adamant about seeing the fences at the back, which is currently only possible by walking through the house. He didn't insist on that at all, of course, so all was fine, and then a longish convo with my sister. I'm all convoed out! Life is very different … weird different.
I did manage to tell some nettles to leave me alone
and started to back up the computer as I wanted, but that meant no more financial action, so I'll change things around a bit so that I can do both. Don't want to exhaust myself, but I really want to keep going with the finance stuff, and get the outstanding list completed by the end of this month. Halfway through the month now! My word ...

i know what you mean about how tiring all these convos are! I'm a bit of an introvert so re-emerging from lockdown and getting back into social interactions has been great but also exhausting!Choose kind4

Hazelnutty, I'm glad someone else feels that way! And in fact, it carried on ... had a phone call from my Glastonbury friend, whose stepdaughter I've known since she was about ten months old and now lives in the Far East, is getting married out there
he's invited to the trying-on of wedding dresses, via zoom. Such is life these days! I was so glad he rang
Really, I just worked on getting more of the already-weeded stuff out to the front, ready to bin, and tidied up inside. I may have cleaned the hob properlyand I've also been looking at different things to do on meetup, where people are operating on zoom.
Woke up horrendously early, so I've already started work on finishing off credit cards - nothing to pay on one, because of refunds, yay, and nothing to pay on the other because I knowingly overpaid last month2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
1. Can I get a refund for the now unwanted router?
2. Pay credit cards, put direct debits onto automatic.
Almost done, just need to get my mastercard onto paperless and automatic.
3. Check what my French bank are writing to me about.
They've gone paperless because of the pandemic, thats all. Plus my booking firm, who actually pay me, have sent an addendum to the lease – the quarterly payment will be about a third of what it was, for a while.
4. Update my security document. In process.
5. Check what savings accounts are active.
6. Standardise the details I have on them.
7. Some savings accounts have expired, shuffle money.
8. Swagbucks - complete points for £5 Amazon voucher. Done, credited to Amazon. £10.
9. Three: ring them up and withdraw all the options for mobile data I took up.
Just keeping my eye on them.10. Pinecone - find the cashed out £45 of JL vouchers.
11. Use some cash to up my premium bonds amount.
12. Check about claiming State Pension.
13. Read my meter and submit numbers.
14. Transfer reward money for my current account and download statements.
15. Withdraw some money from ratesetter while I'm at it?
16. Check on magnetic knife rack no show.
17. Check on Sun caravan holiday refund.
Done – all good, from the holiday firm and from the Sun.
18. Check no further charges for my old website.
19. Input my new banking details to the kdp/kindle website.
20. Fetch money fromI my dormant cahoot account.
Rejigging the list now, its getting a bit unwieldy. Which is Good!

I'm thinking of getting some premium bonds - would you recommend? I've just closed a 'losings' account for DD so was thinking of buying some PBs in her name, but was also toying with the idea of putting some of my savings into them while interest rates are so low.Choose kind4

So, thats only 8 of the 20 items that have been done. Not bad I suppose, but I need to keep on it! Happy so far.
