Hope you manage to recharge the energy levels without getting too bored - tricky balance. Do you need complete quiet or can you listen to audio books or podcasts etc for some of the time while you are resting?

Thats a good question, teapot - part of the time, I need physical quiet, so I'll read something - often something on my kindle. Other times, I can watch tv. I engage with the written word, even on tv I like the sound fairly low with subtitles - podcasts don't do it at all for me. Videos of cute animals on youtube :) not just cats :) go down well too :) though even on those I hit the mute button.

You do it too! Thats good :) my head rocks at those high volumes, I'm afraid.

I made myself get up just now and go to the local shop, check it was still open (its closing on 23rd August. Again - its too much shop for a little suburban row of shops). So, for £2.28, I got 1kilo of broccoli/cauli florets, 6 tomatoes, 3 sweet peppers, a tub of hummus. It was all 20% - 50% off - the whole shop is way overpriced, sadly.

Well done on the veggie haul KC - strips of sweet pepper dipped in hummus is one of my all time favs!

Thanks RT :) good to know.

The wind has died down, thankfully - though there's 3 separate warnings of thunder and lightning tomorrow! Maybe I'll put the washing machine on today, not Monday. I'm feeling a little bit better, but any recovered energy needs to be taken up by domestic tasks - such as stacking the dishwasher, sigh. I might troll about the garden and the rec. ground looking for blackberries, or the garden only for alchemilla leaves for the dehydrator ... I have to get outside for a bit, if only to do some deep breathing exercises. Staying positive, one of the great-nephews has his fifth birthday today :)

Lol, I've never listened to a podcast myself - they just seem to be a big 'thing' now. I also have the sound down while watching TV with the subtitles on :). There are soooo many cute animal videos out there, since I watched a few that came up on FB I now get lots recommended :o. I often have the radio on in the background rather than the TV.

Hope your week goes well :)

Morning! I did pop out briefly yesterday to go blackberrying, at a piece of waste ground surrounded by houses, no traffic fumes at all, it was nice, they're freezing individually still. Difficult to get enough sleep, but I stayed in bed as late as I could. Hoped I'd be able to go on the council walk this morning, but no way.

I've done a bit of faffing around on SB and Pinecone, I'll put the washing machine on for sure, and if I do anything at all, it's just domestic catching up, Ive abandoned everything for the last 4 days ...

ETA - no walk has been the right decision ... everyone walking past my house is carrying an open umbrella :)
EETA - well, the forecast was accurate. Two sets of thunderstorms so far, plus torrential rain, stair-rod type rain. I love the sound, but I'm glad I'm inside.

...the things I learn from you KC :rotfl:

This is a colloquial North of England expression. Stair-rods are the metal rods that hold stair-carpets in place on each step. The allusion is to rain which is so heavy as to appear like falling stair-rods.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: My distant cousin in New Jersey said much the same thing, I never knew my language was so full of metaphors and similes and whatnot till then :D

Emails now sent to Glasto and Margate delaying contact :o with pix of new kitchen, catsitting and Extinction Rebellion to apologise :o I've been catching up with myself - putting the rubbish in the bin, sweeping the porch, that sort of thing. You have to do something when you're like this, plus I'm wondering if too much of an imbalance actually *creates* the problem, in part, anyway. No clue, and its not as if I'll ever do the research, but it *feels* true. Hey ho. Stopped now.
