Thanks beanie
I've been out in the garden for quite a while, working on this patch I wanted to clear for the two pennyroyal mint plants. Done it! Wasn't too bad - lots of twigs I put there to help decompose, leafy strawberries that grow like knotweed, a few garlic bulbs. Mint is planted, fresh soil is laid, bark chippings are down

:hello: Morning all
Off out this afternoon, on a local horticultural society trip. Lifts have been arranged for non car drivers, like me, as its *so* local - the people giving me a lift wanted to arrange it on Wednesday night, and I contacted them at about 7pm, got no response till a phone call at 10pm! A bit unusual, that ... I'll believe I'm going when I get there, to be honest.
In searching out the contact details, I also found the horticultural society of my town, as opposed to my village, and they also do trips - so I'll join them too. More local links, and some days out and information, can't be bad.
So until then, I'm just catching up on things I've listed on here but haven't actually done2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Thanks both! Yep, they showed up on time, and we were the first there, oops
the lady was wonderfully welcoming, tea and coffee and home made cakes (including gluten free) included in the price, all the money went to charity ... oh my word. This was a private garden way out in the countryside, a garden of 12.5 acres! I took a photo of the beehives for my brother
There aren't many private garden that have a series of redwoods ...
Exhausted today, and quite stressed, to be honest: tired by the long trip on Tuesday, and the new people yesterday, but mostly by the kindly meant email and phone message in the previous weekI can say on here, "I feel tired", and thats okay, but saying it to people who expect/are asking to meet up, it carries with it either "I don't want to see you yet" or "I only want to see you for a couple of hours" ... I hate saying that

KC - SERIOUSLY (imagine me stamping my foot while saying this)
Friends would truly prefer to know that you have limits & are well cognisant of them, than to have you suffering on the day (whatever day that is) because you are pushing yourself too far.
SIGH
xxx4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
Thanks RT
actually, that makes me well up a bit
when I stayed with my friend in Margate last year, I fell asleep as she was cooking dinner, and had to go home early the next day because I was so tired
I recovered over the next week, but then I went on the Spanish cruise, and I hadn't been boosting energy for that, just recovering, so that was affected too. And my Glasto friend is the kindest person imaginable, and he'd be fine with an email instead of a return phone call, I should think. I just really, really hate being so low in energy.
You know, well before the internet and whatsapp, one of the reasons I used to love travel was that I was out of touch with everyoneI think I've always not-listened-to-myself during everyday life. Thank you for reminding me about what other people *actually* think

Totally get it. I think part of the problem is "we humans" just keep on keeping on when really we should sit and rest. Resting seems so hard for us to actually do and is frowned upon by those who feel to busy to do it that it is a brave woman indeed who says "I cannot " ... Go you:TMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Much appreciated, thank you. I absolutely *have* been keeping on keeping on, internalised that message completely. Trouble is, nowadays, I have to rest *so* much, I get really bored
and holding steady to the right, low level, activity in that situation is hard. I haven't fallen off the wagon for a long time, though, so I'll forgive myself that. I was so near to finishing the garden though! Anyway, not long, I should be all right by the middle of next week.
Have a good evening all2023: the year I get to buy a car0
