Thanks RT :) it was an amazing place - really big, with a bit of an outdoors too. I was out of the house for 3 hours, which is plenty long enough :) lovely Edwardian wrought iron plant staging, 1960s toys, cutlery and dinner services from the last 200 years, there was a surfboard somewhere, all sorts :) and amazing prices for this area. Lots of cups of tea in my immediate future :)

Lovely to hear about your mooch around yesterday - hope you had a restorative break & snack when you got home & good to hear it was only 3 hours out of the house.

Was just having a wonder if your decrease in energy levels might also be in part due to the changing seasons? Autumn to winter is my struggle, the other seasonal cusps not so much...Also don't forget your vitamins!:p

Just foraged my first 40 blackberries of the season! Giving them a little soak then will let them air-dry before freezing them! Once frozen will pop them in a container & start my berry hoard for winter oatmeal :D Nothing like a dose of natural vitamin C when it's dark & dank! The next round, I'll have to don some trousers & boots, as the thorns are wickedly long this year...

...also just saw the first mushroom of our mid-lawn fairy ring - definitely a sign of colder weather to come...OH is thrilled, he melts in the heat - me not so much :o - love to open all the doors and windows for hours on end to air the house ;)

Hi RT :hello: awww, thank you. Yes, lots of restorativeness happened yesterday. Erm, vitamins are still not happening, though supplements are .... I'll have to think about that.

Blackberrying! Yes, I could do that too - there's a couple of bushes about 40 yards from my house, on the rec ground, and a whole lot more a couple of hundred yards away. Thats a nice goal to get out of the house :) I need to make a jelly, though, I don't actually like blackberries themselves, too hairy :p but this is why we have freezers. The thorns are something else, aren't they!

Your fairly local fleamarket sounds fab - love having a mooch round somewhere like that.

After all those blackberry foraging mentions, I think I might do that too this year. I used to collect them years ago but not recently and refuse to pay supermarket prices for them!

Hope you have a more energy filled week :)

 blackberrying blastoff (akin to Mischief Managed!). That's my third little go at these brambles: they're about 20 feet tall, there's plenty for the wildlife. The elderberries seem *very* popular with the wildlife, so I'm not taking any of them. I dared to put some dried beans on soak this afternoon - I'll cook them tomorrow. That's a sign that the kitchen is feeling organised again :) hurray.

Hope everyone manages to get some sleep - its warm again, which is nice, its still summer after all!

Nooooo! My mum saw something in the paper about preparing the garden for autumn this week too... I'm not a heat lover particularly, but do want some more summer yet!

...(And don't talk to me about *flea*markets!! :rotfl:)

Oh I forgot to mention the mushrooms! I've been seeing mushrooms too, sorry madvix :rotfl:and the fleas too, which I started on here, at any rate :rotfl:

I've decided not to go to the healthy walk - I'm slow waking up, and it would set me up badly for the day. Kicking myself too, I wanted to be up to date with cards for family birthdays, and its the birthday today of the eldest niece in law. The nephew starts a humongous new job today too ... okay, I can write them a letter today, and omiword, my SiL has a birthday in a few days. Okay, those are jobs worth doing. I need a routine, and its really hard to establish one :o

Got to get my act together.

I've been seeing mushrooms too - but I'm just putting that down to it having been warm and wet, it's not mushroom season yet! :)

I find establishing a routine very difficult too. My first thing routine is pretty sorted now, but it goes downhill from there.

I'm sure your niece-in-law and nephew will really appreciate a letter - it's so unusual to get one these days! (In fact, I might just write one myself now.)
