Visit was great! I only sat down at the bench at the bus stop on the way home :rotfl: They have 3 walled gardens, 2 of which were an absolute riot of colour, and the 3rd was turned over to local schools for experiments, a great idea.

Popped in to the horticultural society summer show on the way home, I'm still a member apparently - they have some wonderful day trips lined up, going to sort out the dates and money early next week.

I love a walled garden. Visited a great one on our way home from Rutland last year - very much a work in progress where the buildings were struggling (Victorian greenhouse and an outhouse used for storage) but the gardens were fantastic. Our veg garden is supposed to resemble a microcosm - just hedges here instead of walls and the borders are fruit on one side
