Isn't it amazing how we're attracted to walled gardens? A microcosm sounds like a great idea for a garden of our own, SL, thats a good aim for me, actually.
Not too much today, as I have such intense activity tomorrow morning (the auction! have to be out of the house just after 8am, yikes). I want to do some watering here, before the sun gets on it, little bits and bobs, nothing too special.
ETA I should make a list:
- do a load of washing.
- water plants before the sun gets round to them.
- prepare dishwasher, and breakfast tomorrow, which needs to be grabngo.
- find fabric my sister wants for a piece of patchwork for her DiL.
- shower, using my lovely new shower cap :rotfl:
Thats the must-do.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

done. Well, not breakfast, but that won't take a mo.
- find fabric my sister wants for a piece of patchwork for her DiL.
done, and packed ready.
- shower, using my lovely new shower cap :rotfl:
water's hot, fresh clothes ready, just got to check the garden one last time and I'm there.
I also worked on the patch at the bottom of the garden again: not only weeding, but laying chippings, since I realised that when my garden gate actually worked, I got 3 big bags of chippings into the back garden.
And I sorted the birthday list: the modern genealogy is almost up to date, but "France" and "Ireland" and "Sri Lanka" aren't really good enough as wedding locations - bit more info needed :rotfl:

excellent news on the rosemary though! :j you've reminded me I have a couple of small plants that I propagated from the Bush at our old house so I'd really rather not lose them - they need getting out of the pot and into the ground pronto (I've been putting it off because I don't know where to put them
which is ridiculous given how much space we have
:rotfl: Just need to get them in the ground somewhere - I can always move them later after all!
Hi Cheery
planting rosemary by the front door is supposed to keep harm from entering but it will only flourish in homes where the mistress is the master! My rosemary is doing very well at the moment:rotfl:

Is this the book being sold tomorrow at auction? If so, hope it does really well and you enjoy the day
despite an early start.

Hope book goes well and you have a lovely day Karma! I enjoyed the auction mum and I went to recently... Amazing what people will pay for (in some cases) old tut (some of the stuff we saw was in really poor condition, and this was supposedly a fine art and antiques auction).
Didn't know that about rosemary, very interesting. Have been meaning to get one for a while so will put it by the door.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Amazing what people will pay for (in some cases) old tut (some of the stuff we saw was in really poor condition, and this was supposedly a fine art and antiques auction).said we were thinking about putting something in, and this woman said she'd put something in. But she was making notes about what everything sold for
people who've just got a couple of things to sell don't make notes like that.
If I was a professional, I'd be buying up the lovely Georgian dressing tables and upcycling them - £30-£40, and utterly beautiful. But brown, nobody wants brown! I'll go back another time and watch the furniture and cat ornaments being sold - its quite boring watching books being auctioned off, in case you didn't know
So, the book sold! It wasn't out on the shelves with the other books - we reckon it was because the reserve was comparatively high. But it sold - for £280. No idea how much we'll get: seller's commission of 15% + VAT, insurance of 1.5% + VAT. If we're lucky, we might get £70 each
We had a pootle around the little town concerned, which has lots of arty stuff, it was great fun. Then I popped in to Waitrose - and, oh my days, I've bought some lovely looking bread, full of gluten  I just couldn't stop myself  I'll freeze it, but I've had a couple of slices :eek:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
