Ah yes, I recall very well the unmistakable smell of drying plaster - completely different to a damp house. The mark of progress, but also the obstacle to further activity. BTW we used to render kitchens and bathrooms so we never had to deal with damp and disintegrating plaster again - with tiles on top it seemed silly to pay the extra

He itemised the quote, so I'm okay with it really. And its SE England, what can you do? And I've got a convector in the middle of the kitchen doing its thing, which is what the plasterer did.

Anyway, I feel a lot better than a few days ago, though my throat's still sore, but I went food shopping yesterday in town, so I'm catching up today on the house, and maybe even a little bit on the garden too.

Oooof! - just caught up on the last few days (last time I was here you'd 'ordered' lights and sink....) - what a total ba**s up by BnQ!!! :(:(

Another vote for Franke sinks here - I had the same one as SL for around 12 years and then sold it with our old granite and bought a similar Franke one for the 'new' kitchen :D. They come up wonderfully :T

Painting quote sounds high - ouch! We had ours done last year, as you know and it was around £150 less than that - but we're in SW, not SE.....

Fingers crossed it all comes together... xxx

Oh dear, this decorating quote *is* a lot higher, isn't it greent :( oh well, biting the bullet on this - I need my house back. Mind you, the plaster still isn't dry, so there won't be workmen here tomorrow either.

Still haven't looked online at lights - might have a look at Wickes website in a bit.

RT - I can just imagine :rotfl:

I've been out with my sister to the local country show this morning/lunchtime - wonderful stuff. A great "pod" for a self watering raised bed with an insect proof cover and inbuilt watering, £118, it looked wonderful. Met some alpacas, one of which was definitely trying to hypnotise me :rotfl: brilliant card kiosk was there again, stocked up on high quality cards @ 50p each. Riggers gloves for gardening, proper quality, £3. Desperately wanted a bay plant, but not a single stall had one, so I bought a rosemary and a thyme, £2.50 each for lovely big healthy plants.
