I'm so tired this morning
even though I slept until 7.30 ... texting with my sister, we'll see what happens. At the moment, it feels like the biggest achievement of the day will be to put the dishwasher on, but in a few minutes I'll have a walk around the patio, see how I feel.

I really do have it very good compared to some people
must, must remember that, even if I feel virusy. Just spoken to my noisy next door neighbour. She's going into hospital on Monday for a double mastectomy. She's four years younger than me - I know that shouldn't matter, breast cancer can get you at any age, but really. The poor woman - and she's mostly thinking of her husband right now, who's sort of collapsing into himself in fear for her.
Please smack me if I start drooping into self pity again.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I have:
- spoken with sister, I do need to not do the fetching and carrying of mine that we had planned. She'll come round on Monday afternoon.
- I've paid the French management company the variable quarterly fee: E157 this time. Over 2k of euros in my current account as of now! After the kitchen reno, maybe I should consider a French savings account again.
- washing that I did yesterday has been fully line-dried today.
- dishwasher cycled through.
I'm going to take a pic of the CD rack, d/l to computer, put it and the sofa on gumtree, to be collected urgently. Kitchen delivery is next Thursday

Hello!
I see the kitchen fitting is getting closer. It will be great to finally get it done.
Boo to shenanigans with the charity, hate it when something that should be straight forward gets to be so difficult!
However, reading about your neighbour, it really does remind me of how lucky I am with my health (so far, touch wood) and puts all the little annoyances into perspective.

:hello: Hi Goldie, thanks for dropping by.
I'm glad your health is good (touch wood, as you say). I felt a lot better after I spent one of my 15 minute sessions in the garden - I got to a part of the soil heap that had decayed slowly over the past 7 years or so, and the texture was just amazing, really really beautiful. The equivalent of a whole bucketful has been rehomed to the garden, thats got to be good for it, and it's what I originally intended for it :rotfl:
Photos have been downloaded and resized, and my heart sinks at the idea of logging in and uploading etc, especially after all the blog faffle this week. But needs must.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sorry you've not been feeling great karma .... Still frustrating to be under the weather, though completely hear you that stories like your neighbour can put it into perspective ( doesn't make our own troubles less niggly though)
Time in the garden is so good for the soul, sounds great ...hoping sun comes back soon so more garden time can be on the horizon all round!MF planning for the simple life :j0 -
Hi Ella, thanks for popping in
yes, it's that thing of my neighbour facing something life-threatening, and I'm not, but I'm still facing bleepy stuff. Tricky to get the balance right, but self pity is never good! The garden is agreat antidote for that, you're right, even a little while out there is wonderful.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling great but thanks for reminding us about the importance of long term health and particularly checking for lumps. A friend died in her 40s from breast cancer, and it's a reminder to me that every day is a gift.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Hi earthgirl! Yes, that makes me think of the late, much missed Taxi from on here ... lots of us met her, particularly because of an event that Wol (also on here) held, Taxi had been suffering, but managed to get there, accompanied by her daughter. She was only 49
her address was shared on fb and in PMs on here, and her family were stunned by the number of condolence cards they received.
Anyway, I didn't sleep particularly well, but after a few errands I'm going to make sure I enjoy the day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
