    Morning :)

    I dug up another bucketful of the lovely humus on the now-almost-uncovered paving stones :) then went a short walk to a local charity shop I really like, but completely forgot about :o it sells furniture! They always have at least one two seater leather sofa in stock, and when they have one I like, after the kitchen's done, I think I'll buy one. I know it sounds odd, for a vegetarian :o but I think there'll be less dust (cos I can clean it more easily) and fewer dust mites, come to that. And easier to keep properly clean enough to lie down on myself sometimes.

    Anyway, their driver is going to ring me some time from Monday onwards, to see if they want *my* sofa. I told the lady in the shop that mine isn't as nice as their usual stock, she said the removal cost is £35, which is the most expensive of all my options, but at this stage, I don't really mind. They're a great shop, they support a hospice, however they take it is fine with me.

    I made sure I didn't do anything else, I don't *think* I've overdone it, should be okay. Ordered another £5 Amazo voucher from SB - they're currently the best in terms of use of points, and I like them being so small, it's easy to build up to the tipping point :D

    Going to be doing serious levels of kitchen clearing today, so my sister doesn't tell me off when she comes along tomorrow to drive my stuff to the charity shop :D

    KC - just LOVE that you are cleaning so sis does not tell you off!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    When I go home and visit my oldest & dearest friend (like a sis) across the pond, she makes sure I have at least one kitchen cupboard to reorganize or a pile of laundry to fold, so that I don't tell her off about rotating cupboard & freezer stocks. Seems I can get a bit cross about the state of her kitchen...

    I made full use of our leather(ish) sofa this morning from about 5.30. Wearing jamas and a fleece and lying on a fleecy blanket with 2 blankets on top of me, I was snug as a bug and even managed to doze off for a bit. Highly recommend it!

    Glad to hear that you have found a helpful ch shop.

    Fingers crossed the CS will take the sofa this time. Leather sofas are so much easier to keep clean, don't have one but often have small visitors with sticky fingers so luckily the covers on my sofa are washable [I also just turn the cushions over instead sometimes :)]

    Morning all :) yep, ease of cleaning takes precedence, and the leather sofas aren't new, after all :)

    Such a bad night's sleep last night - 3 hours awake, tired but not sleepy, v uncomfortable. Beats the alternative, though :)

    Today. Hmmm, I'm hoping the charity shop driver will ring, then I'll be pootling about in the morning, and my sister is coming along this afternoon to help me take stuff to a local charity shop.

    I've just remembered I have some cassette tapes I recorded - of me reading out some letters written by my grandfather in the early 1920s, the ones that were then stolen by my Horrible Cousin. That means the cassette/radio/CD player can't go yet. I never transcribed the tapes, and I really, really need to. Maybe thats why none of the charity shops have worked out yet :):):) karma can really look after you sometimes :):):)

    ETA -charity shop peeps have rung already, are willing to collect on Wednesday morning, 9 - 1, I like them already! Reiterated to them that it isn't as nice as what they have in the shop, but am fine about paying them to take it away.

    Ooh, good karma, definitely there!

    I hadn't thought about transcribing... I have a cassette of me interviewing my Nan about life on the home front during the Second World War. We're also hanging on to a cassette player for that reason (although as it's got my Nan's voice on it, I'll probably get it converted to an audio file anyway).

    Glad the other CS seems to be keen - will keep my fingers crossed it goes to plan this time.
