RT, he might have cat DNA, it can spread, according to Rupert Shedrake :rotfl:
The cats have learned to play with shiny thingsthey were neglected, elderly rescue cats who survived by hiding, so its taken them a long time
but one of them is displeased with me - peeing outside the litter tray. Right by it, but outside it
I'd much rather empty cat litter trays than mop it up from the floor
:eek::eek::eek:
Bad weather out there this morning, so I'm just going a local walk, and have to time that carefully too. I don't feel too bad now, and I also need to keep an eye on the peeing cat, sad to say :cool:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Have they been introduced to a ping-pong ball yet? I think I mentioned it in a post when you first started cat-sitting with these cats. All my cats loved them:j. If the floors are hard and polished so much the better although the sound it makes might spook them a bit the first times you try.0 -
Hope you have got some of your energy back after your trip. Sorry to hear about the cat pee - does it really mean it's not happy?

I think they've met some ping pong balls, Carboot - I've seen a pic, though I can't find any here. I might buy some at the poundland store. The great thing about the wand with the shiny stuff is that you don't have to chase after it yourself, cos its on elastic :rotfl:
Earthie, thanks, I'm not too bad - I was going to go a walk today, there's a big craft store heading outwards from the centre. But the wind is currently strong enough to lift metal dustbin lids :eek: so I'm not moving at the moment. If it dies down, I'll go later.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Oh Karma, I feel your pain about the weeing next to the litter tray.... been there, done that (not personally, of course!). Do they have a Feliway plug in? It might help? The advice always says to take them to the vets to check it's not a health issue, but I definitely agree that it's probably the change in circumstances that's caused it
Not sure I have any other advice to offer though - B&W cat still pees by the back door if the mood takes him (he's had a stressful day). Did their human slaves warn you that this might happen or do you think it's entirely new behaviour?
Hope the wind dies down and you're able to get out at some point.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

We once had a rescue cat that wouldn't use a litter tray to save his life. All our cats have had access to the outdoors via a catflap though. One terrible night of gales he just wouldn't venture out of the flap and was obviously needing the loo. He wandered around the house wailing despite there being a clean litter tray available (and which he knew how to use after having one at the Rescue Centre) but never had done since he had freedom to roam when we adopted him. We eventually discovered that he'd climbed into the bath and peed near the plughole:rotfl:. Smart cat or what????0
