Hi KC glad you enjoyed the underground visit - is it hydroponics? Sounds interesting, many years ago I visited a hydroponicum in Achiltibuie [thats quite a mouthful], this was probably in the '90s I think and it was fascinating to me the fruit and veg that they were able to grow. Sadly it was sold a few years ago and is not the same though apparently some of the original staff from the hydroponicum run this site; https://www.thehydroponicum.com/
Hope you have had a good day, poor cat with a fur ball. My big old furry boy gets them even though I brush him regularly. Must be horribly uncomfortable in his wee tummy. I know to expect one when he has been out eating grass - his look like fur sausages when they appear

I did! I slept a bit better too, though I was really, really *really* tired. Haven't stepped over the doorstep today!apple_muncher wrote: »Bet you had some wondrous dreams with all that info whizzing round your head!
It is hydroponics, yes, the guy said that what they're doing is actually quite ordinary, lots of others are doing it, it's the location and the lack of travel miles for the food that makes the difference.Hi KC glad you enjoyed the underground visit - is it hydroponics? That website looks fab! I think the other issue is that these guys are doing microgreens/ sprouting, in a hydroponic way, and hydroponics sites are mostly geared up for actual, y'know, plants
The sprouts go a long way - we were given 70g in a little tub, and I didn't even use half of them yet. Must eat lots tomorrow.
Yep, mine used to eat grass, so it was just soggy grass that came up really. But the stuff yesterday was exactly as you describe, fur sausages _pale_ not something I thought I'd ever writeHope you have had a good day, poor cat with a fur ball. Mine used to lurve being groomed, I must text my niece-in-law and ask about grooming combs.
Really quiet today, cancelled my friend that passes through central London on her way to union meetings, I really didn't want to go out again. I need to get myself in gear tomorrow:
- fulfil paying in requirement for the new bank account.
- send the French paper off to France, one more bit to do.
- food shopping.
Then I'll be ready to go out on Friday. Possibly Divertimenti, posh cookware shop
we'll see. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Right, feeling a bit more balanced about things. I've put the dishwasher on (didn't even do that yesterday!), done a YG (only 200 points to go now), done most of the SB points available, transferred the monthly money into my cheque account.
So, to be done:
- the French paperwork
- food shopping, and have a bit of a look round at the same time.
- send a few pix out to bruv and sister.
- finish off the blog I wrote when I got here.
- experiment once again with the washing machine.
- plan my travel route tomorrow.
That feels positive

The hydroponics sounds really interesting Karma - what an experience too, in such a place. Thanks for telling us about it

No fancy dismounts here Daisy, just litter scattered everywhere! My boys are quite long-haired too, and we get the occasional fur sausage, but they don't like being brushed - they get bendy backs if you try and make themselves scarce!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

You're very welcome to the info

So now we have bendy backs as well as fur sausages? I really, really like that! The cats here aren't really in my good books at the moment - they're being cute in spite of themselves, not because. I bought some very posh cornish sea salt at Sainsbo, with dried seaweed scattered in. The cats were ... magnetised, lets say :rotfl: they actually broke into the kitchen, jumped up on the cabinet and pushed it onto the floor, which is when I heard the commotion at the other end of the flat :rotfl: they've mostly forgiven me for chasing them off
Thing is, I can't even give them a taste of what they so obviously adore, because its, y'know, salt! I might tell my niece so she can buy some seaweed and try that on them
I also bought some mascara - very conscious of this thing about not using old mascara, and this reunion thing is finally coming up next week - umpty million years since we started our counselling diploma :eek::eek:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
