Oooohhh, forgot to mention:
Powerpoints.
Work out where you need them.
Double it.
Get lots.
And lots.
And then some more.
And if you're going for a modern look...........
And some powerpoints with usb charging points in too - and whilst you're putting one in the kitchen think about another in the living room and anywhere else which might be useful - price difference between them and a 'standard' double socket in chrome for ours was minimal (maybe £1 or £2 per socket) x
ETA - just read on and have seen you've mentioned these already!x

Nor me......I wonder if she reached the numbers limit on her server, and they stopped doing the emails? Hope you can find a way through that, greent. As I say, Cheery has done the first questions. I could post the posts on here, if you'd like.

That's weird, apple, when did you sign up? I don't think I even needed to confirm my email address. Why don't you sign up again? They're headed "UFM 1" etc ... hope you can sort it soon!
PS - to see what the first one is, go to Cheery Daff's thread - she cut and pasted the questions onto her mse thread.
I signed up again, as soon as I read your suggestion. Still no emails. Looks like me and greent will be forming a frugalwoods-rejects group :rotfl:!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I've tried again now on a different email address (one I try not to use as I'd really like to close it) - success! Thinking more about it, I have a feeling that I may have subscribed to the challenge before (this time last year, perhaps..?) on my usual email account and then blocked FW emails as they were annoying me....:oI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

In case it sets anyone's mind to rest I joined the FW challenge yesterday and received this a few minutes later:
Hi Friend!
Thank you for joining the Frugalwoods January Uber Frugal Month Group Challenge! You'll receive your first Uber Frugal Month (UFM) email on January 1st! If you don't receive an email that morning, please check your spam folder.
I was assuming it would be quiet until next Tuesday on the FW email front but as you've already had some I'm beginning to wonder what I'm missing out on:think:0 -
Thanks cbc - that's the only email I've recieved too. I did re-join, using the same email address, and didn't get that email, so I guess it's wait-for-jan-1st-with-bated-breath time!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Morning :hello:
I'm doing uber frugal month too as you knowI've only received the welcome email too, so I assume it will start on the 1st Jan as it has before. I've done it at odd times of the year before now though and when you sign up you instantly start getting emails so KC if you're getting emails each day and other people aren't maybe you've somehow been put into the 'start right away' box (if there is such a thing??) Anyway, as long as we all get them eventually I suppose!
I've done it a couple of times now - sometimes I'm into it, sometimes not. Lots us MSE old hands will know alreadyBut as other people have said, a nudge is always good
One year I did it I had some quite startling revelations about my new spendy habits  So I'm hoping for some of those again
Good luck if you're doing any sorting or gardening today KC!0 -

I totally agree about a nudge always being good:T. I'd already sort of planned an uber frugal whole year for myself (not one to do things by halves I have to go the whole hog often disappointing myself and ending in failure but it's worth a try:o). I've now been reading the FW website and the brilliant selection of links on there:j and see she's mentioned eating just from the pantry/freezer etc . Before even hearing of FW I'd already planned to do that anyway during January (I've already started actually) and discovered that apart from milk, bread and some fresh fruit and veg I have enough in stock to do it without spending anything at all during the whole of January:j. I'm sure some of the other suggestions will either give me a nudge as you say or new ideas. I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know how I ever managed to never hear of FW before so thanks again, KC, for mentioning it:T0 -
