- go to my bank, I need to pay off a cc by tomorrow, and can't do it online,
done, they just needed the bank card, it was pretty fast as well.
- speak with my colleague, set something up for next week.
Not yet, on purpose, he gets up *really* late :rotfl:
- carry on with the genealogy notes, decluttering them, including setting up a stack for my sister, she'd rather have actual papers, rather than computer files :rotfl:
just done a bit, but thats the main task this afternoon.
- I bought some veg a few days ago. I'd better start cooking it
Not yet - the days are still pretty short, so I want to do a little bit more of cutting laurel or box hedge this afternoon, before dark.
- text my brother, check he's still on the same planet as me. He's had a lot of driving to do to help rellies out.
definitely still on the same planet, midway through a driving task.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I'm glad the bank transaction went well. I've revised my opinion of banks recently as they've turned out to be far more helpful than they used to be. A 'real' person's help rather than struggling to fix things unaided or online can save a lot of wasted time and headaches.
He sounds like a very helpful chap and good to know. He seems to have done a lot of driving to help people this past few months including bringing all that furniture etc from your Mother's home, taking things to the tip for you and other things that you mentioned. See, I've been paying attention:rotfl:. OH loves driving wherever necessary and fetching and carrying for people too. He's got another long-distance trip to help someone as soon as New Year is out of the way. I might go with him this time if the car, including the passenger seat isn't full to the roof with the stuff he's got to transport for them. He's hoping he can use his own car rather than have to hire a van this time.0 -
- I'm getting the kitchen revamped after that (including a rewire of the whole of downstairs and the plaster in the hall repaired/renewed).
Powerpoints.
Work out where you need them.
Double it.
Get lots.
And lots.
And then some more.
And if you're going for a modern look...........A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hello, hope you had a good Christmas !
I've just been looking at your plans for 2019 and have noticed that you are going to be revamping your kitchen, which is exciting.
We had our kitchen re-fitted 16 years ago, and have always been pleased with it. The trouble is, the laminate coating on the doors is starting become unstuck, so within a couple of years we'll have to do something about it. Maybe, take the laminate off completely and paint the doors, or get new doors for a new look.
I'm currently reviewing the year and planning next year - nothing particularly earth- shattering, but I'll put my plans on my thread in the next few days.
Good luck with the Frugalwoods challenge!Early retired - 18th December 2014

I normally do the fw challenge but last time I didn't really learn or change anything. This year my goals are much more widely spread so I'm having to put a bit more effort in!

Still working on the laurel - I've cut down enough of the trunks that I can get to the branches towards the back, though they're so far over the property line I don't think I can get them allbut I did a lot this afternoon, and I made future maintenance a lot easier.

but in general he wants to help - he's been known to go litterpicking on the beach on his own, because its the right thing to do.

And if you're going for a modern look...........I definitely want the powerpoints that the wm and dw use to be up on the counter, so I can unplug them when I go away. And yes, having more ... plus having those new plugs that have a usb powerpoint fitted. That always helps.
