It's so annoying when you get disqualified after making so much effort!
I was just reading about your proposed novel. I like my apocalyptic novels to be in locations that are recognisable to me (instead of somewhere in the USA) so it sounds right up my streetEarly retired - 18th December 2014

It's worth trying to contest the survey if you have the other details KC - sometimes they don't give you an opportunity to take a screenshot anyway and they've been pretty good when I've submitted a request, despite no screen shot.
Nothing to comment on the post-apocalyptic novels, I'm afraid - I prefer my stories to finish with apolcalypse diverted!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

A real mixture of emotions here today. Not a word written of my novel but I was mentally replanning it since we last 'spoke', KC;). How are you getting on with yours? Did the visit to it's setting galvanise you into action?
I mentioned on here a few days ago about dissatisfaction with some of the items received in my last Sainsbury delivery. I was worried about complaining about things of such small value but it was you, KC, saying buying groceries online is a matter of trust that made me think I was right to let them know that the pickers could be better;). I eventually received a response from Sainsburys , an email with a £2.50 voucher code. That just about covers the cost of the questionable items with no goodwill compensation but it's better than nothing and I'm grateful for it:T
My brother has stage 4 lung cancer, diagnosed just before Christmas. Such bad luck, he was a lifelong non-smoker, and his consultant has given him just 'months' of life left. I was planning to go to see him this week but he lives 300/355 miles from me depending on route taken. I need to choose the day carefully as his current treatment is knocking him for six and he is refusing to see any visitors. I desperately want to see him. We've not been close for many years, not just because of the physical distance between us:o. I realise time is running out but don't want to make the long and expensive trek if I can't even see him when I get there. SIL phoned me this morning and she thinks it's best if we leave it until next week instead but time is marching on and I'm stressing myself that we may never get to kiss and make up.
Sorry to clog up your diary, KC:o. I'm finding it impossible to talk to OH about it and friends seem to be going through their own major problems at the moment and I don't want to burden them. OH and my family never got on, the main reason I've been estranged from them on and off for many years. Sadly it was OH's fault not theirs and he can't understand my sudden need to go all that way to visit. He won't be going with me and I'm not happy about driving all that way on my own nowadays so it will involve 3 changes of train. If I could set a definite date for going I could buy an advance train ticket to lessen the cost. Sounds a bit mercenary at a time like this but needs must.0 -

I don't want to hog KCs thread, but I couldn't just read and run.
Blood is thicker than water as they say. You must do what you feel is right and if that is travelling several hundred miles to make amends then that is what you must do.
Not quite the same as we hadn't fell out but I drove a long way to see a friend who had terminal cancer (I didn't feel comfortable driving all that way). It was something I had to do even though I hadn't seen her for a number years. I was glad I did - I travelled up again the following year just before she died and I don't regret a moment of it...I would have done if I hadn't had gone.
Take care CBC
