I'm still waiting for a call back, tried again this morning but kept going to answer machine even when I pressed the option to open a new account with them. Have sent an email but the auto reply said they'd get back to me in 3 - 5 working days!
Not impressed at all, this is the worst service I've ever had from an energy supplier. :mad:0 -

After grumpycrab mentioned them using Twitter I voiced my annoyance on there tagging them in. Within an hour I had a reply asking for my account number so they could investigate.
This morning I've had an email telling me they're sorting out my refund and as they've escalated my compaint I should have the money within 3 - 5 working days.
Sometimes social media is a good thing!
Oh and they claim their current tardiness is due to so many people wanting to sign up to their services...0 -

That would appear to be feedback on Simplyswitch, rather than the subject of this thread, Utility Point
Although to be fair to SimplySwitch, I guess all other comparison sites would have given you the same information.
You were given the actual terms from Utilty Point, and were given 14 days cooling off period to cancel if you changed your mind or did not like the terms as stated by the supplier.0 -
@Biggles I understand what you are saying but I don't think it unreasonable that if SimplySwitch explicitly states that my DD will be £61 a month to expect that to be honoured. You actually have to fill in a DD mandate on the SS website. Even so, it gets weirder. UP replied to my complaint and amended my DD to £120 for the first month and £41 for the next 11 months! What? That won't even cover my fuel bills for the year. I repeat, their systems are a mess.0

If it helps, I state you should not pay more than a tenner per month0 -
Hi Guys, I have spent the last couple of hours looking at companies to switch to.utility point come out cheapest ! So , come £40 dearer.
I noticed So increase Dd by 25% during winter months, less in summer,
BUT,
UP state that they charge double for the first six months!
So if annual consumption is £900, then you will pay £600 in the first six months, then £300 in the next six months.
Put me off a tad, even if overall annual price is correct.
The tariff I was after was/is 18month fix, so not sure how that operates.
Also it was via CEC.
IMPORTANT: Utility Point sets significantly higher direct debit payments for the first six months of this tariff. The payments are then reduced for the remaining six months. For example, if your annual bill is £900, you’ll pay roughly £600 over the first six months and £300 over the last six.
It’s a minefield comparing quotes and DD’s.0 -

So does paying it off in one go , upfront, and sod the DD’s altogether !
Give me a discount and I would do that.0
