Dormant? The accounts don't actually seem to be dormant but they don't seem to have any income/expenses?
There were no significant transactions, hence it was a dormant company.

Is one of these companies the real supplier?
UTILITY POINT LIMITED Registered Company Number 10610614 runs the website https://www.utilitypoint.co.uk/ , OFGEM show that company as being licensed for both electricity and gas supply

Why don't you think that Utility Point is the real supplier?0 -

The director who has resigned is linked to various energy companies: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/officers/g7cVk9hfY9d_dx5sneMLJ35Enhs/appointments
Andrew Dyball. Appears to run Dyball Associates who offer "Software & Consultancy services to the UK Electricity & Gas market" and "Our team of consultants can guide you through the steps to enter the UK energy market. Whether you’re looking for electricity and gas systems or how to start an energy supply company, Dyball Associates Ltd can help."

They acquired £20,000 of intangible assets which I would say is significant - presumably this is the fee for their operating license? I'm not sure why the other side of the entry has gone to "Other reserves", though I am digressing as this thread is about their ability to supply electricity not their accounting policies. There were no significant transactions, hence it was a dormant company.

I was confused that they had no income from selling gas and electric. However, the accounts are from 31 December 2017 and the first post here suggests they only started marketing around January 2018 so I was probably getting ahead of myself.
Interesting - seems he was also involved in setting up this company: https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/vavu-power-limited-notice-grant-gas-supply-licenceAndrew Dyball. Though they don't seem to be trading.
Also these people who are trading: https://www.eversmartenergy.co.uk/
HARTREE PARTNERS SUPPLY (UK) LIMITED which is owned by http://www.hartreepartners.com/
Also these: https://dyce-energy.co.uk/
https://www.ampoweruk.com/

https://www.avroenergy.co.uk/
So it seems there are a number of companies he has helped setup still going which is a good sign,
Some more companies that Mr Bolt is involved with: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/officers/v2NhjpkIWYIlyQFN2DrnB4VeKaE/appointments
I wonder if there are any statistics on how many companies get granted a gas/electric license and then how long they last for (as there have been various failures recently).0 -

Yes, otherwise they estimate whatever figure they have in their minds which is usually way more than you'd use in a whole month.
Since they bumped my payments up by £20 a month I'm now nearly £200 in credit. Called this afternoon to claim some of it back but just got their answer machine... :cool:0 -
Just got welcome pack but disputing the first initial payment that's £166 when I was told it £83.00 per month, no one answers the phone, their online chat is always disabled.
Sorry but not looking good at all, next to contact the bank to discuss cancelling direct debit setup0 -
They were on Twitter 9 mins ago.

What tariff (or "Package Name") is detailed in the Welcome Pack?
So the Welcome Pack says 6x166 +6x83 = £1494 for the year which I assume is incorrect?0
