  • Hi all, Hope everyone is ok. Finished work last wednesday, been busy clearing a bedroom, four bags of clothes and shoes went to the charity shop in town. Two old wardrobes to the tip and a chest of drawers. Bed turned around to make more room in the bedroom. Yesterday was painting the stairs walls cornflower white and touching up my dressing room walls with paint.

Been applying non stop for jobs on indeed, jobsite, cv library and anything that comes to my email. It seems to me that there are not lot of part time accounts roles, so Im applying for full time roles just to get a call and ask them if they would consider part time.

Been planting spring bulbs in pots and clearing the garden. Still going to the gym to keep active with my neighbour, but Im getting impatient that Ive not managed to get an interview or job offer yet. I know its early but I dont like not having a routine part time job to go to.

My stepdaughter who is 30 has just been told her pa job ends in March. Yet without a permanent job she cant start to buy a house, shes renting and is single and wont date until she has a full time job.

Luckily I dont have a mortgage to pay but £200 a week for me pays the small bills and allows me to have money for myself. My husband works full time as a maintenance fitter and is very supportive. Hopefully I will get something soon. This week is my last pay plus holiday pay.

Would like to get my cv looked at but you always have to pay for that, I think it could be better structured.;)

    Hi all,

Will be getting fabbed up later as going out for a couple of afternoon cocktails & then a late lunch at a Spanish restaurant with friends from work. My mum is watching DS for me as DH is working late shift today.

maman I think we’re both quite laid back about the baby as he’s quite laid back himself most of the time. He’s very social already as has been used to being passed around my large extended family from around 2 days old. If we go to a family party I generally don’t see DS for a couple of hours as all my aunts, uncles, cousins and then my brother & sister have him. :rotfl:

The health visitors I’ve spoken to about weaning all encourage you to give babies stronger flavours and DS is certainly not fond of baby rice etc as it’s very bland. He’s tried dahl and chicken tagine and loved both. :)

Some lovely positive posts on here. Well done all. I love the fact that making an effort with fabbing boosts confidence!:)

Have a great time with your friends sashy. I love your attitude to your baby. I'd begun to think that all young mums feel they can't have a life.

I've got a birthday coming up and the only refusals I've had to my lunch party invitations are from one niece (who can't leave her children although it would only be for a couple of hours) and a nephew who has never left his 4 year old with anyone but my brother who's not available. Sorry but that's a bit of a mini rant:o. I'm particularly cross with my niece as she lives so close to the venue. It's really not a suitable occasion for children and in any event the venue has limited numbers. I'll get over it but I know when her mum invariably makes excuses for her on the day I'll just say I'm disappointed and move on.

It's obviously bugging you about getting a job butterfly but you've not been wasting your time while you wait!:T It's only been a week! I always think making trips to the charity shop or the tip is really cathartic. Hopefully you'll get an interview soon. There must be lots of small businesses that have just completed their tax returns and would love some help rather than go through it again next year.

It's good to hear you're using and enjoying your products and vouchers that you got for Christmas tara. I opened an Argan Moroccan Rose shower gel yesterday that I've not used before. It smells great.

I don't know if any of you have read the Marie Kondo book about 'The Life Changing Magic of Tidying'. It's a bit 'airy fairy' but it does have some really good ideas for tidying and decluttering. It's not a long book so easy and quick to read and if you're very mse:money: you could borrow it from a library (if you still have one!). One of the things I've learned is only to keep clothes you really love wearing which then extends into only buy clothes you'll love wearing.

I wore a dress to my dance class last night. I've not worn it for a while and got many compliments which was nice. Football tonight again. The forecast is dry but cold (4 degrees) so I'll choose my wardrobe based on that. I will wear make up including some foundation. I was telling them at the Benefit counter that I missed one of their discontinued tinted moisturiser and she suggested mixing foundation (which I'd tried but found too heavy) with a little bit of moisturiser. I tried it last night and it works well. I'm pleased about that as I don't like wasting products, especially expensive ones.:)

    Hello Ladies,

Maman, I have not seen The Post yet, but it is on my list of films to watch.

You should wear that flattering dress more often.

Can I ask you a question about your upcoming birthday lunch, why have you not chosen a child friendly venue which would have meant that none of your relatives with children would have needed to refuse your invitation?

It is just an observation, not a criticism about your choice.

Luxury Woman Thanks. I had such a close call about 5 years ago, that it changed my outlook to my life. I no longer wait to go out and enjoy my life. I fit in as many events that give me pleasure as time, my health and my finances will allow. Life is definitely for Living! I hope you do meet a 'gentleman friend' when you are ready who is kindness itself and is very even tempered. I am sorry you had to live through your previous relationship.

Can I be very nosy and ask how your teeth deteriorated so much?

Butterflies you are a whirl of activity. I hope you manage to secure your 1st job interview soon.

I went to Karaoke last night. It was almost empty of other singers, so my friend and I left an hour early. I am beginning to learn new songs. I sang 4 songs:

    1. That's The Wonder Of You by Elvis

    2. The Closer I Get To You by Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway

    3. Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You by Andy Williams

    4. My Guy by Mary Wells

I did enjoy being at Karaoke though. It is less nerve wracking for me to sing to a smaller audience.

I went to see the film Goodbye Christopher Robin this morning and I loved it. :D I tend to enjoy films based on real life events, but it was fascinating for me to find out so much about the author A A Milne and his family and why he wrote the Winnie the Pooh books. I would give this film 9/10

    Hi all,

Lots of diaries being deleted over on the debt free diary board just now due to trolls abusing the spam buttons. :( Such a shame as the diaries are a great source of support for many MSE’rs.

Looks like mine has gone. Oh well. Maybe I’ll start another on at some point

Put on a nice black top with red skirt and black boots today, did make up and perfume before trotting off to my woodcarving class. Forgot I was doing sanding today so black top was a bad choice - walked around all morning with dusty boobs :rotfl:

Luxury woman - of all the cosmetic procedures I have to say teeth is one worth getting a loan for. It's not just about confidence, good teeth are very important to your overall health. Is there any way you could get the money?

I've not read this book but will keep an eye out for it as it sounds interesting. Definitely like the idea of only keeping/buying clothes you love wearing. I would say probably about 25% of the clothes I own fit into this category. Lack of finances means I can't unfortunately replace a lot of them at the moment but hopefully over time I'll manage :)

Outfit is picked out for tomorrow - grey and black checked dress, black tights and my new boots with a lovely colourful necklace.

The body lotion that I'm using at the moment is almost finished and I've already picked out the next one I'm going to use - taking a tip from this thread and using one that is the same scent as my fave perfume.

    Hi all,

I did my hair in a French plait today and wore a nice blouse from Lindy Bop along with my red uniqlo jeggings and calf high docs. Was very cold so wore my duvet jacket as well.

Had a couple of nice cocktails today (a gin bramble & a White Russian) then headed to the restaurant which was lovely. Really well decorated & just a nice place to sit and relax. They were doing 50% off the a la carte menu too. :j

We had tapas, so around 7 dishes between us and for dessert, two portions of churros (so good) and a cheese plate. We had some wine and Spanish coffee liqueur as well. Then to the pub for a couple of gins and I was home for 9pm. :T Had a nice afternoon/evening. :)

Only problem was that DS was up & bright as a button when I got home, he refused to go to sleep for my mum. :( I managed to get him to sleep after she left so hopefully he’ll have a good night.

maman I just don’t want to be welded to my DS day & night - I love him but I need my own space too!

I can sympathise about people refusing to leave their kids & turning down invitations as a result. The best man at our wedding’s wife refused to come to the wedding as we said the kids were only staying until 7:30pm on the day. We got married in a brewery, so the reception was in a pub and kids had to be out for 8pm. It was slightly different in their case as they live in Yorkshire & we were getting married in Glasgow but they did have family that would have looked after the kids. Most people at our wedding were glad to escape the kids for a day. :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your diary being deleted as well chanie. :(

    Hi Chanie,

I did wonder, as I could not access your diary any more. I hope you get it re-instated or start a new one :D
