Hi fabbers,
Welcome to all the newbies.
I bit the bullet tonight and rejoined weightwatchers. I lost weight with them years ago so I thought I’d give it another go. I went straight there work on a whim and after the meeting, I arrived home to savloy and chips. Oh dear, not a good start. I’m gong to sit down and read the info properly and then start the plan.0 -
mummy2threeboys wrote: »HI Can I join please? So many posts to catch up on so will just have to jump in I', afraid. I'm 40 this year and in the past 5 years really let myself go due to depression. I have hit a bad spot again so i'm off to the dr to get meds again so hope this will get me back to me. Currently 2 stone overweight (I'm very small so every lb on and off shows) .
I hate my glasses and hate wearing them so I'm going to try contacts but no idea what I am looking at! I have astigmatism, Wondering If I have to have a trial of putting them in..i'm fine touching my eye though!..Anyway Have a good weekend all. Off to soak in the bath and de fur and pamper, it's been a long time!
Hello
If you can copy with touching your eye without blinking then you should hopefully find them ok. I had a trial at spec savers and they made me put them in a few times and out again. I also have a stigma and had a different type of lens in one eye for while. Worth going for an appointment and they can advise:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Hello Ladies,
Welcome Newbies, I hope you will enjoy being part of this fabbing thread
Chanie, the important thing was that you followed through on your whim this evening and went and joined Weightwatchers. I hope you do well with losing weight with them this time around0 -
 great to welcome new people. The more the merrier.:)
This thread spurs me on to look after myself. It's about giving time for yourself a priority. I find that the more I work that into daily routines the easier it becomes.
Well done on joining Weightwatchers chanie. As you know, I'm a big Slimming World fan. These clubs aren't for everyone but, for me, having a structure helped a lot. I've always done a weekly menu plan as it's both mse:money:as it saves waste and time saving too as when I go to the supermarket I know exactly what I need so I don't just wander around buying random food and I don't have to think daily about what we're having for dinner.
I've done well this week as I had my nails done (deep red) and my feet although I don't paint my toenails in the winter much. I've also got an appointment for my hair on Monday.
I went out with a friend last night and as a gesture to Burns Night I wore a fine, red wool jumper with a tartan scarf along with my skinny black jeans and ankle boots.
We're going to see the Churchill film later so it'll be a similar smart casual outfit.
Looking forward to hearing all your fabbing stories.:)0 -
Hello to all the newbies!
Still an un-fab 2018 for me as I keep having flu relapses, I'll have a day or two of thinking "I feel much better!" and followed by a couple of days of feeling absolutely rotten. Couldn't cope without the DC being at preschool a couple of mornings a week! I think I will follow LuxuryWoman's example and aim for fab Feb :j
Mummyofthree, I wear contact lenses a lot and have astigmatism, it shouldn't be a problem. Specsavers have been really good for me and let me try new lenses etc to see what suits. Give it a go, most places will offer a free trial!
I did like the SW 'diet' maman but their app is terrible compared to the WW one, and in my area the leaders were rather uninspiring, I felt like I was handing over £5 a week for nothingon the other hand I have still done zero with my (two month old) WW membership! Trying to decide whether to keep it going next month. How are you finding the new Flex plan chanie?
Cold here but at least it's sunny. Makes it much easier to take the DC out and wear them out before bedtime!!Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
maman I’m loving the sound of your Scottish themed outfit.
Ruby I hope you recover soon.
I haven’t had a chance to look through the weightwatchers stuff yet. I think it’s becoming more like Slimmimg World in its approach and toy can build your meals around lots more zero points foods which is easier. Although I haven’t had a chance to look at the programme yet, I’ve tried to make some healthy choices today. Breakfast was an omelette with tomatoes and a bit of cheese (eggs and tomatoes are zero) i snacked on some chicken breast slices whilst I was out (zero) and I’ve just had a bowl of leak and potatoe soup, which is probably quite bad, most of the rest was zero points anyway.
I’ve had a cold all week and it’s got progressively worse. I felt awful this morning. I couldn’t stay in bed as I had a laser hair removal appointment and I needed to pay for a further course of treatment which is on offer and is about to expire. Whilst I was out, I bought some lemsip and ended up paying £1.20 for some hot water is the ASDA cafe, just so I could drink it.0 -
LuxuryWoman wrote: »Skye I'm the 27th. It's strange, I was really worked up about turning 30, 40 not so bad, I've never looked better or felt more 'sorted' - 50 though, it's a strange one, I feel a kind of 'now or never' about it, time is ticking on but in a way I want to embrace these years, I guess 50 isn't what it used to be or maybe I'm kidding myself? I'm interested in how you feel about it? Do you have celebration plans?
LuxuryWoman I'm looking forward to 50 and I will be making the most of the coming years, year ago I think once you passed 50 you were seen as old, I do not feel old at all. I do some times feel time is ticking on and this makes me sad and more determined to enjoy the coming years. Celebration plans are to be a holiday in Turkey with my hubby, I'm not one for big parties. What are your plans?
Chanie I'm a SW fan and once the chocolate cake my hubby as just walked in with has been eaten I will be following the plan again to drop 2 stone.
Mummyof three I find Specsavers very helpful in get the right lenses to suit me.
Bought myself one of those watches that tracks your steps today so going to set that up this evening.0 -
Skye I was thinking about having a proper old school disco party, a bit 'Studio 54' but it will cost. So, maybe a show and a stay in a hotel (Groupon or similar deal) I fancy 42nd Street. I do feel it should be a celebration, I have seen a lot of younger friends die much too soon so feel it is a fairly big deal. I can afford to go a bit large but I don't want to pressure other people to join in as I can't pick up the tab for everyone. I guess if I go with friends to a reasonably priced restaurant I could pay for a couple of bottles of fizz to make it more special - that Libran indecision!
One decision made, I have my nails painted 'Green with envy' a bit of bling on and a bit of a rock chick vibe (rock gran?) I'm a going out!!
Have a fab evening all, paint your toes and slap on the serum ladies!0 -
