Hi all,
I’ve just had a lovely shower (by myself! No baby sitting staring/crying!), finally using up my miniature Molton Brown shower gels that I’ve had lying around for ages rather than keeping them as some sort of ornaments in the bathroom. :rotfl: On to pink pepper pod at the moment which is nice.
I never appreciated the excitement of having a) a shower longer than 5 mins or b) a shower by myself, until having my DS.Used body moisturiser as always afterwards, then dried & straightened my hair.
Was thinking today of getting a hair cut in the next month or so as my hair is getting very thick again & my sister messaged asking if she can practice her cutting on my hair. :T She is doing a hair stylist course just now so that she can move onto the next level of the make up artist course in September and needs models to practise on. She cut my hair a few months ago & did a good job so of course I said yes. Nice timing too. :j She’s practising on her twin daughters tonight, they’re 9 so she practises on them a lot. :rotfl:
sukeyboo glad you’re still enjoying Adriene, she is my go-to yoga person online. The only thing I couldn’t find on there was pregnancy & post-natal yoga, presumably because she doesn’t have any children. I did find some other yoga teachers on YouTube for that but I missed Adriene.
A facial sounds lovely, I used to go every 3 months pre-pregnancy & miss them, my skin always felt lovely afterwards & the therapist I go to uses Neals Yard products so always smelled lovely too. What kind of massage are you thinking of? I love hot stone back massages but haven’t really tried many except that & a normal aromatherapy back massage.
Hi samphire :hello: I’ve been pondering getting an aromatherapy necklace for a while, will have a look at that link, thanks.
luxurywoman I’m another one who’s not too happy with my teeth, they are really squinty top & bottom and could probably do with braces but just don’t think I could afford it. The main thing for me is that they are healthy & I’ve never needed any dental work. Wish I’d gotten braces as a teenager but the dentist kept saying my teeth would “straighten out” by themselves, obviously they didn’t. I don’t know why he didn’t refer me to an orthodontist but to be honest neither myself nor my mum pushed for it either. My DH had braces though & has lovely straight teeth that I’m jealous of!
Sorry about the essay. It’s DH’s birthday today & he’s working late shift so going to bake some banana muffins & tomato scones for him coming home (not sure if he’ll want sweet or savoury, mind you knowing him he’ll want both :rotfl:).Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Sashy i LOVE hot stone massages, since I am now working part-time I am more mindful of how I spend my treat cash...it has to go a bit further now my income is 40% of what it was 2 years ago.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Ah Floss the hot stone massage relaxes me so much I fall asleep.
I actually woke myself up snoring a bit once, :rotfl: mortified was not the word. :rotfl:
When I go back to work it will be job share so a fair drop in income but will still seem a lot compared to SMP. My DH got me a gift voucher for the beauty therapist I go to for my birthday last year & I still have £25 on it & 5 months to use it - used the other £25 for an Indian head massage plus mini facial which was lovely. I’m stuck between using the remaking balance on a full 45 min facial & putting another £5 towards it or 30 min hot stone back massage. Get my sugar levels under control - take all medication regllary . Continue to loose weight and work on keeping my energy levels up. WILL hopefully start bloging regullry aswell£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

I'd go for the facial just before you go back to work
but then they will also see the post-facial skin that maybe could reflect the impact of your return to work

Hello fellow fabbers, hope everyone is well this gloomy day!,
I have been to the shops today and treated myself to a new and rather bold lipstick and a bright new nail colour and paid with Superdrug points and well, you will think me bonkers but I had £35 in Boots advantage points (built up with clever use of extra point coupons and my mums shopping!) and I normally use them to buy dull stuff like sanpro, toothpaste and deodorant but today I was frivolous and bought a Chanel compact mirror (daft ,£28 for a plastic mirror) but it comes in a nice little pouch and the lovely lady gave me all manner of foundation samples and sachets. It's silly but it's a little nod to me being 'worthwhile' having been last on the list for years, do you see what mean? I cost me nothing as I paid with points but I wasn't sensible. Feels damn fine though!
Off to do my weekly manicure now, have a great evening all x0 -
luxury woman well done on your treat, hopefully, the first of many more. I love little luxuries like that. I!!!8217;ve adopted a kondo approach to purchases in that i only buy stuff that !!!8216;sparks joy!!!8217;. I hope your mirror does that for you (even more so as you used your points!).0

Hello all, lovely to hear about you all enjoying life's little luxuries!
I am a long time lurker in need of this thread particularly at the moment as MIL is very poorly and we are spending more time looking after her in the evenings and at weekends on top of both working full time. Instead of spending (wasting!) time scrolling through FB and watching crap tv then wondering why i've got no time left whatsoever I will be doing more fabbing!!! For me this is:
1) Making time for work outs- i'm a member at a lovely gym and nothing nicer than an evening swim or little bit of cross training before showering and sliding into bed.
2) Using my gel nail kit or extensive collection of nail polishes!
3 ) Epilating!! I bought one over winter thinking if i kept using it that it would be part of my routine before the flesh baring warmer months arrived... not managed yet i used it once on halloween and never again since. Anyone have any joy with theirs?
4) Taking care of my brows- i use the self tinting kits from boots which works well but this has fallen by the wayside recently.
Hello all and you seem like a lovely bunch!0 -
Hello positivethinking2015! I hope that your MIL is doing OK. It!!!8217;s really hard to balance caring responsibilities and a full time job, well done on trying to carve out time for yourself. My Dad has terminal cancer and sometimes I!!!8217;ve struggled with this, but have to tell myself that I!!!8217;m no use to anyone if I burn myself out.
Epilating...... must dig mine out of the cupboard. I find it a really faff to be honest, seems to take ages and I end up just using a razor in the shower when I can be bothered. I!!!8217;m living in thick tights or trousers at the moment, and think my winter pelt helps me keep warm....0 -
LuxuryWoman I like the sound of your compact. I think that!!!8217;s a good use of points, a small luxury that you can use every day and will never run out! I always think that a compact signifies someone who is very pulled together and am now thinking that I may do the same with my Boots points0
