Anyhoo. Loving my new house. The family cams got lunch yesterday and they were all oohing and ahhing. Lots to do but it’s looking and smelling a lot less Miss Haversham now. Lol.0

Hope to be back properly soon. Sorry it’s all a bit me me me. But difficult using the phone.0

Hello Ladies,
LL it sounds as if you are settling in really well into your new home.
I am unfortunately in absolute agony. I can not hardly walk or anything or stand up straight despite the use of painkillers and Ibuprofen gel. I am housebound and getting lots of rest with my feet up and hopefully this will make the difference and by tomorrow I will be back on my feet. Thank goodness my daughter lives with me and she can help me out today as it is her day off work.
I have plans for the rest of the week and this weekend my sisters H and R are coming for the weekend.
My son may have thought he was a man before he left for University, but now he has discovered that life away from home is much more unsettling than he had thought it would be for him. He has the safety net of having his home really close by so he is able to visit or to join us for a family celebration meal on Saturday for 2 of my granddaughters. Also he message me for advice, which is cheaper than him phoning me.0 -
LL - Glad that you're feeling positive about your new home. Plenty of time to "plot and plan" on what to do to it over the winter.
Is trying not to think about just how much money is going out on getting my appearance sorted at the moment:eek: - bit well and truly between the teeth now.
Been sorting my tops this morning and divided into "Are going to be too big for me soon - so ready to chuck them" side of the rail on the one hand and "Will be able to wear again soon" on the other side of the rail. I've gone down one size. Being honest about it - I'd got to "label size 16". Well I'm back to "label size 14" and next stop is "label size 12" and I'll see how I feel/look then. I can detect health improvements already. I was wondering about the way I've been feeling slightly breathless walking up/down slopes for a while and I can tell that that's a lot better than it was and think I should be rid of the breathlessness totally once I'm back to normal size.
New cardigan the latest purchase - one of the longer length ones and that doesnt do up type style (I've never liked doing up cardigans anyway - so if they are more "undone" style I prefer that anyway). Soft-ish blue - and very slightly more "dressy" style and should do nicely with jeans and not create the awkward "What do I do for an extra layer over tunic dress/leggings outfit" situation imo.
On a different topic - has anyone used Royal Jelly for a while? If so - what is your opinion of it (good, bad or indifferent). I'm wondering whether it might help "put the clock back" a bit on a couple of different things.0 -
Sugarbaby. I am sorry to hear this. I hope you feel better soon. Hope the rest helps.0

Humpty. Well done Finding a nice wedding outfit. Not easy. For formal wear I tend to go for what I call Jackie O style. A simple sheath dress and coat or jacket. Tailored clothes suit me best. Frills and flounces and anything fussy just look silly. I don’t even do patterns. Just block colour.
That is very much what it is, simple sheath dress in block colours, very 60s I think but a bit longer than I wore skirts in the 60s:rotfl: Just a small edge to edge jacket. It is funny as I am not into dressing up and normally hate buying for a special occasion but it is something I have to do but this time I keep looking at it (I've hung it on the back of the bedroom door for now so I can admire it) and it makes me smile. Maybe it is the back to the 60s thing?
How annoying with your broadband, have they said how long it will be?0 -
God knows. Lol. My son has just come back from his holiday. He’s going to tackle them.
Today I have arranged for my plumber to come and check the ch and gas fire. We can discuss the bathroom and kitchen. Might try and get the bathroom done ASAP. It kitchen can wait till next year.
Got the tree surgeon coming on Thursday to quote for getting rid of conifers and a roofer to sort out the guttering ridge tiles etc.
So progress is being made.
I’m shattered though. So haven’t gone much today. Sat outside and enjoyed the sun. I gave a south west facing garden. I love it. The front garden is choked with weeds but I’ve made a start
Need a few days to rest now though.
Acupuncture tomorrow. Massage Wednesday. I finally got my hair cut so looking a bit less bedraggled. My hands are in a bit of a state so lots of tlc each evening.
Oh and because I had no broadband I set to and finished my memoirs. Phew. No wonder I’m knackered.
I also managed to buy a couple pairs of jeans and three fine knit sweaters for autumn. Perfect for this weather. Not really ready for the heavy sweaters just yet but too cold now for summer tops etc.
Can’t really read this back. Hope it makes sense. Lol.0 -
We had a lovely lunch out today and I felt good in my nice outfit, etc but I seriously need to address weight loss as much for my health as my looks. Serious amount of walking and looking at diet, meethinks.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Re weight loss - I'm dieting at the moment - but also finding trying to be a bit more "mindful" with eating helps noticeably too. So I will stop eating immediately if I feel like I've had enough, rather than mindlessly eating it because "it's there - ie food still on my plate".
"Better wasted than on my waist" is a useful motto I feel.0 -
If you're trying to lose weight try using a dessert plate instead of a dinner plate - I started doing it some years ago & it really helped. I still do it and I haven't put the weigh back on.
Sugar - sorry you're feeling so rough at the moment - hope you get some improvement very soon.
LL - you sound settled in already!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
