Morning, dull and damp here this morning. But no frost.I have my heating on and like you Hazel, will higher the temp if needed. I will do without a lot of things but not heat.lol.Enjoy your time off and am sure your work it out how you like to comp.
Work was hectic yesterday although we had a full staff on the floor,at least time passes quick. I am off till sunday now.I treated myself to 2 small fruit trees tuesday an apple and pear and will grow them in big pots,so i can move them round the garden if need be.Just got to get the pots and soil now but may leave that till tomorrow. Hope you all have a lucky day.

    Good Morning,

A horrid foggy morning here so hope it lifts soon. It hasn't been cold here at all infact heating been going off at times!

Nice to see you again theluckofthedraw, hope you and your family all well.

The fruit trees sound nice indie. Hope you are relaxed after your work now. DD sent a message last night saying she had the day from hell. She worked a double shift as they had an awkward admittance and she was put in charge. Had to phone for police assistance twice and an ambulance later for someone (non English speaking) who she thought was having a heart attack! The main hospital is a few miles away and she had bother getting an ambulance! She is away there this morning to see how he is.
Hope she isn't doing a double shift again today.

Must get on as DH has made some porridge.
    Good luck to all.

Morning. It’s been dull here the last two mornings so missing the unusually sunshine we have had recently.

Welcome back Theluckofthedraw and good luck. I too do date ending I’m always trying to catch up but never seem to these days. I do the thread title too and have only found current date going through them all. However, I am convinced I miss some as i do go through and check I have seen all comps for that day from this link Firefly sent

Sheils sorry to hear your DD had a rough time at work yesterday. She must deal with some very difficult cases. She sounds very caring. Let’s hope she has a better day today. Saw on weather forecast that some places in Scotland were a lot warmer. Very strange weather. We were freezing on Tuesday but a lot warmer yesterday and that’s with heating up. Indie we too don’t skimp on heating.

Indie you’ll be busy with the fruit trees. I never did understand about cross pollination. Enjoy days off.

DH is a lot better but DS phoned full of cold last night and I’ve woken up with sore throat. Ho Ho.

Good luck everyone. This month seems to be going by quickly.
  • Morning everyone,

Enjoy your time off Indie, I nearly bought those miniature fruit trees last year that can be grown in pots but somehow got distracted! let us know how you get on.

Hi Sheils, I take it you are still getting out and about on your walks? I see you have a new grandchild - congratulations: beer:

I have gained a second one since I was last in the Inn! that's how long it has been. aged nearly 3 and 2 now

Thanks Leanfun I think it was that link from Firefly I previously had - brilliant thanks for that.:)

our fog seems to have gone finally today but still cold .

    have a nice day everyone

Very misty and dark here this morning, looks like lights will be on again all day, just like yesterday.
I hope your DD didn't have another double shift sheils, i know how hard they work as we have a couple of mental health nurses assigned to the home and they are there often and there workload is full.
Glad to hear your DH is on the mend leanfun, let's hope the sore throat goes as quick as it came.
I will let you know how the trees do Hazel, like you i have seen them for the last couple of years and kept meaning to get them but by the time i remembered the planting time had passed so was determined to get them this year.
I hope you all have a lucky day.

    Hi all,

Been another decent day here. Got washing dry so just ironing to do tomorrow. Will be packing to head off for 2 nights in Edinburgh before visiting DS2 and family and then a night in Stirling. Looking forward to seeing GS again.

Had to apply for a new passport so tried online with own photo , it seemed awfully simple so hope everything ok! Had to send old passport to them before they do anything else. Hope I get a new blue one!

Hope you and your family's colds aren't too bad leanfun.

Great you have 2 GCs now theluckofthedraw. Think my GS will be my one and only for a long time!

Indie, DD did a night shift last night in amongst her normal hours but says she is fine and will finish at 9.30pm and be off until 3.30pm tomorrow so hopefully get a good sleep. Unfortunately noisy children have moved into the flat above her so proving a problem with her hours.
She is hoping to buy somewhere later in the year. (with help from bank of mum and dad!)

  • Hi everyone,

Indie, thanks for the update on the trees if they take off I might buy some. It has been ok here weather wise no fog.

I have a sore throat today as well Leanfun must be a bug going around? loads of coughs and colds everywhere here.

Sheils, I have two grandsons 3 and 2 and I think that is probably it for me/them as well!! I have found the passport office and DVLA two of the most efficient offices for doing things online. I know what you mean about it going smoothly online (is it ok) , I was the same many moons ago when we taxed the car online for the first time!!
Enjoy your trip to see family and baby!
My DD does similar shifts and they can be horrendous but she loves it has done it for years finds it rewarding - not for me though: eek:. She manages even with the little one and juggling things about.

Having a quiet weekend I think catching up on cleaning etc and the dreaded ironing which I threatened to do all week whilst I have been off:rotfl:

    Have a good evening all,

Brrrr it's a cold start to the day here.I dropped DS and his GF off at work, got some petrol and came home and my hands are frozen. The temps have really dropped overnight.I won't be going out again until they finish work.
Hope you have a good couple of days away sheils. I bet you notice how much the baby has grown since you last see him. Your DD may not hear them upstairs as she will be so tired, hope she gets some sleep.
I will let you know how the trees are growing Hazel, when i get them planted out. I walked into the Homebase yesterday, talking to son and realised it was the wrong shop. Came out looked up and no the shop had changed to a B&M. I was last there last summer so that was quick, lol. Luckily they have a large outdoor garden center so got what i needed there.
I am just having a coffee then getting on with housework.Hope you all have a good weekend.

Dull here today. Thanks for kind thoughts. DH is almost completely better but I seem to get worse each day keep dosing myself up with remedies ever hopeful they will work soon. St least it didn’t go on DH’s chest.

Indie don’t blame you staying indoors. Indie I remember hearing some Homebase stores had closed. Pleased you didn’t have to go too far for the tubs etc.

Sheils hope it’s not too cold in Edinburgh and it’s a bit brighter than here. Enjoy visiting your GS. As Indie says they grow quickly at his age. Hope it’s not too noisy for your DD To have a good sleep. Be interesting to hear what your passport is like Sheils.

We were supposed to have family visiting today but that’s been cancelled.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Be lucky.
