Afternoon. Great you are enjoying your time off Indie. Good luck with comps.

Sheils hope you have had a good journey today.

Yesterday we took SIL to Chartwell for lunch. It did rain but only a bit after we were back in the car. Many roads near there have trees with tops joining across the road so pleasant journey.

Today she has gone to her sister’s for a party. DD1 has gone with her but GS said he wanted to stay here. He keeps beating DH at Connect 4. We were supposed to be going to the park but it’s so heavy here feels like a storm is coming.

Morning Everyone,

I do not post a lot in here. I actually win very little . I had the pleasure of going to the This Morning Live as I won the tickets to go. Did a bit of shopping. Also included in the ticket was centre stage show with Eammon and Ruth and Rylan.

This was only my second win this year.

Back to work today. Weather looks dull and it feels cold.

Morning everyone,


Had a lovely day yesterday visiting Dollar Glen and Castle Campbell although we had forgotten how steep the hills were! Visited DS2 and GF Was a shame DS2 had to work as we had meant to go out for dinner with them. We had a lovely meal at Beefeater though and a free bottle of wine using our points. Heading up to Inverness today using the scenic route through Glencoe and Fort William and along Loch Ness. I love seeing Glencoe, my favourite non water view in UK I think.



Your win sounds lovely I Love Comps. Not been winning much either although really happy with my Forest Holiday win.


Must get myself organised as DH studying map so he can argue with the Sat Nav!

World Bee Day | 20 May

The importance of celebrating World Bee Day

Observing World Bee Day on 20 May each year will draw attention
to the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping
people and the planet healthy. It provides an opportunity for
governments, organizations, civil society and concerned citizens
everywhere to promote actions that will protect and enhance
pollinators and their habitats, improve their abundance and
diversity, and support the sustainable development of beekeeping.

The date for this observance was chosen as it was the day Anton
Janša, a pioneer of modern apiculture, was born. Janša came from
a family of beekeepers in Slovenia, where beekeeping is an
important agricultural activity with a long-standing tradition.

The proposal set forth by the Republic of Slovenia, with the
support of Apimondia, the International Federation of Beekeepers’
Associations and FAO, to celebrate World Bee Day on 20 May each
year met with approval by the United Nations General Assembly in
2017.

World Bee Day intends to shine a light on the habitat of pollinators
to improve the conditions for their survival so that bees and other

cowslip and common poppy are to be sown to encourage more

Morning, that 10 days went quick leanfun, glad your SIL had good weather whilst here.
I had to laugh at your DH argueing with the sat nav sheils. The question is did he win,lol
Thanks for the links Alfie, i love bees and can watch them for hours flying from plant to plant.
I am off out soon to get my hair cut,just my usual bop style so it's easy and i don't have to faff around with it for work.Hope you all have a lucky day

:hello: Good afternoon all


Phew! It's a warm day here, sun's still shining away & I
managed to do a bit of light weeding/general pottering
around this afternoon, then I had to come back indoors -
too hot outside to do much of anything really. Now sat
enjoying a cuppa after drinking a gallon of water, or
thereabouts! :rotfl::rotfl:


Had a beautiful forest walk this morning, lots of newborn
foals around - very cute. Also got some food provisions
from local shops & attended my appointment re having
blood extracted :eek: (or as my kids say ..... my annual
MOT!).


The lady doing the bloods was really lovely but I was
astounded to hear that at least 4-5 people missed their
appointments and didn't even have the courtesy of ringing
to let the clinic know that they were unable to attend for
whatever reason. Makes me so mad - another reason why
the NHS is struggling! The lady thought it would be an
excellent idea for the NHS to start getting tougher with
these people such as introducing a fine (similar to Dental
appointments) & I was in full agreement. Bring it on! :j

Afternoon,I had a morning shift today,so time to relax now. It's very warm here today and seems to be getting warmer as the day goes on.It's too hot in garden for me to potter around at the moment so will catch up with comps.Hope your all having a nice day.

Evening all. SIL is safely home in LA and we are home too. The Classic Lodge near Winsor was good. It’s quite in the country. We had a nice cream tea when we arrived on Monday and then SIL wanted to go out for a walk but the road had no pavement or verges so she decided it was too dangerous. She and I walked around the hotel grounds. They have some lawn with flower beds with lots of lavender with bees. The rest of the grass was to meadow with paths cut through. Alfie you would have loved it.

Dinner was a mix up on first night DH was tired and didn’t read the menu properly. He ordered lamb. But didn’t like the look of what was underneath it. So I stopped my vegetables with his which were very spicy. SIL ordered a different fish but without something Spanish. Her plate came full of potatoes which she doesn’t eat. Last night for DH and I we had brilliant meals. Win was great and SIL paid for our first night.
It was a good break for us as a DH still can’t walk very far. After dropping SIL off at Heathrow yesterday we went into Windsor and found a car park near castle we could hear the band for changing of the guard but just missed seeing them.

Back home I can’t believe it’s half term next week and DD2 is coming with little ones on Saturday night. So a couple of days to prepare.
