Morning. Brr to the snow in Beaulieu Alfie. We picked GS up from school on Wednesday and DD1 said it had been snowing up in the city. Alfie so pleaded to hear your DS and GF are home safely and enjoyed their holiday.

Indie well done on your book win and now the Grinch win great for nephew’s birthday. Know what you mean about coats. Hope you all enjoy your visitor.

Sheils hope your upset was resolved. Hope you have had a good journey and enjoy Newcastle whatever the weather.

It’s been a strange week here. Monday friends called in for us to help them with a problem and we found out another friend who has Parkinson’s is in hospital with chest infection. All very upsetting.

Yesterday we heard from DD2 that GD has chicken pox started in the morning. She’s going to be so upset not coming here tonight. GD started packing last Sunday. They will probably come for the Easter weekend now.

Well we have been like two old cronks here. DH still has a lot of muscle pain and I have been so tired. On a cheery note I’ve won a Festival Kit over on instagram. It’s plastic free and contains water bottle and toiletries supposed to be worth £48. So looking forward to it coming. DS went to a small local music festival in Kent last year and this will be great for him going this year.
DS will appreciate it as years ago he encouraged us to change from plastic food storage containers to glass ones. Actually the Pyrex ones are great as they go in the oven.

Hope everyone is well. Thinking of you Rose and FireFly. Good luck all.

Morning, well done on the festival win leanfun. If i remember right feb/march and april was always the time kids went down wirh chicken pox. My son had it 3 times. The first and 3rd time only a few spots appeared but the 2nd time he was covered.I can remember having them when i was 6,and mum covering me in calamine lotion. Do they still use it nowadays.
We have had no snow but did have snow balls, lol. It was like sleet but little balls of snow.I did ask my son if he wanted a snowball fight but he declined. I am just relaxing today as was working yesterday and am working tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good day

Dull here so far today. Indie you are right about months when chicken pox is about. Just looked back and DD2 says she’s put chicken pox lotion on her spots. I’ll ask her to have a look what’s in it. At least it will be over before her birthday St. George’s day she’ll be four. Yes I remember having it before I was nine. Brother and I had it at the same time. Dad then had shingles. They now say it’s not connected. Indie surprised your DS had it three times. Hope you have a restful day.

Lo to snow balls in April. It was very chilly here yesterday.

Morning. We have had a long sleep in this morning.

Yesterday we heard that SIL now has chickenpox. Good thing that they did not make it here and then be ill. I can’t remember if DD2 has had it. DD1 had it badly when she was ten but the other two didn’t get it then. I don’t think they had it when they were younger.

We have DD1s son over the school holidays he’s going to miss his cousins.

GKs living in Scotland have been to the Isle of Skye this last week. Ex DIzl has put beautiful pics on Facebook. Snow on the peaks. We took our three there when they were young. When I said it would be cold. DH said at least no midges that we always had in August.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Had a lovely break and weather was kind to us so did lots of walking by the coast near Whitley Bay etc. Had amazing fish and chips while there!

Family crisis didn't resolve itself and DD has split with her bf of 3 and a half years. We are pretty upset about it and causing lots of problems with the dog etc. It is such a shame especially as her ex has just found out he has got a fairly local station to start work in in a few weeks and won't need to move house. As he only bought it a few years ago it would have been annoying.
On the plus side we now have a date for DS2's baby - 8th October.

Shame about the chickenpox leanfun. Always mean to visit Isle of Skye but is supposed to be so busy these days and the prices really high except off season plus a lot of the hotels get bad reviews. Remember the views of Arran when we went there after they had had snow and it was spectacular.

    Hope everyone is well.

Hi Sheils sorry to hear about your DDs split. It’s always hard to make these decisions. it’s hard when you have welcomed the partner into your family. Your DD is lucky to have family who will support her.
Great you have date for baby. Something to look forward to.

Pleased you enjoyed your break was wondering how you were doing and the weather was ok. Thought of you today as DH had Len Goodman on in
Holiday of a Lifetime with Toyah in North Wales.

Yesterday i watched Mary Berry on BBC she was on a submarine and it made me think of Rose.

    :hello: Hellooeee all

^^^ I loved your image so much fire**fly, I borrowed
it, hope you don't mind.:p

Well, after the few strange weather days down my way,
thankfully this weekend has been glorious. soleilcoeur.gif

I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Great British Spring
Clean - fantastic turnout & such a wonderful fun bunch
of people. We managed to collect quite a lot of litter between
us, the majority being the dreaded plastic! I also spotted
an adder basking in the sunshine. :D

Also received an email from the RSPB with the results of the
    Big Garden Birdwatch. :j

    https://youtu.be/GbSLL10sX_0

Thank you so much for taking part in the 40th Big Garden
Birdwatch. So much has happened in those 40 years – it’s become
the world’s largest garden wildlife survey – and we’ve got a huge
amount of valuable data on common British birds to look back on.
This is vital information that will help us on our mission to save
nature. Once we know which species are in trouble, we can try to
    find out why.

I've also been having a mega gardening session too. The
soil is perfect for digging after all the rain so thought I
would make the most. Needless to say the worm/grub
    eating birdies are absolutely delighted!

What a brilliant win leanfun! :j 'Plastic free' is like music to
my ears! Very well done. :T :D

Sorry to hear that your SIL has now caught Chickenpox. I'm
pretty sure I was about 6 when I went down with it.

Pleased you had an enjoyable break with decent weather
sheils. Although so sorry to hear about your DD & bf
    parting.

It's lovely that you've now got a date for DS2's baby - my
daughter was also born in October.

Well, must get on, absolutely starving - will have to see
what I can rustle up for dins!

Have a lovely evening all, take care.

Morning, sorry to hear about your DD sheils, it's always hard when you get close to your kids partners. Great news about the due date for the baby. My son was born in October.
It looks like it's going to be a nice day here, suns out already. I was working yesterday so need to catch up with washing today, and pop out for a fridge top up. Hope you all have a lucky day

Sart of a lovely day here and forecast good too. Got the washing on and thinking of taking a picnic to a local NTS garden and having a walk.
DH isn't really himself with the breakup and worrying about DD as she is spending her time at friends instead of coming home. She has been working at restaurant though so handier to stay in town. Anyway will try to cheer DH up with day out.

I had my chidren in Spring and one in early Summer so find the idea of October strange! We hadn't got as far as booking a break in October so that was lucky. DDs graduation will be at end of October so will be an exciting month!

Has anyone been doing the Quidco anagram comp? I have won £5 and £1 and DH has won a £1.
On our last break we hit the 6th stay in IHG in 3 months and got a bonus of 16,800points which is more than enough for another stay. The fact they were mainly really cheap breaks booked in the sale didn't matter.

Have already booked 2 free nights in Inverness in May so now nearly enough points for 2 more stays somewhere :D

    Good luck to all.
