Morning not looking forward to more wind this week. Hope your fence holds up Indie and your Gates Alfie.

Some good news. DH made it to the Chiropractor yesterday. The person who parked in front of our garage magically drove off in time. Chiroprator is very optimistic he can help and says he has done something to his pelvis.
DH is going back on Friday.

Thankfully DH and I are better from the infection but DS is still not fully recovered. I could do with a big dose of energy.

Can hear wind now. Hope everyone stays safe.

    Sheils keep thinking of you.

    Take care all. Good luck.

    :hello: Good morning all

It's another blustery day here & tomorrow we have a visit
    from Storm Gareth!

    ouragan.gif

Managed to get out this morning for forest walk - it was ok
to start with because the wind was behind me - not so easy
when the wind was face on - it was a case of one step
    forward, two steps back! :p

My lights started to flicker this morning so I've dug out my
torches .... just in case. Nothing worse than scrabbling
    around in the dark!

Puddy cat's now curled up underneath my bed covers,
sending up happy zzzzz's. She must think it's a good hiding
place ...... bit of a giveaway though - 'spot' the bulge under-
    neath the covers! :rotfl::rotfl:

Afternoon, blowing a gale here as well but they have said it will be worse tomorrow.Charlie is not impressed with the weather as he likes to stroll round the garden when out there not get blown round. My son use to hide under the cover on my bed when he was a toddler, thinking i wouldn't see him, after i put him in bed lol. Just like your puddy Alfie. Glad the Chiropractor has found the problem with your DH leanfun and hope he can sort it for him.

    hi everyone,

Back home after our little break. Weather was a bit mixed as you can imagine! Our trip down through the Lakes was spoilt quite a bit by the rain which was a shame but we have done it many times before. Did manage a picnic overlooking Ullswater from shelter of the car. Managed a few walks and drove to some little coastal villages that DH spent childhood holidays in as well as exploring Heysham and going into Morecambe. The wind and rain are just trying to start here, was sunny when we arrived home. DD said there was snow here while we were away. Can't believe how flooded the countryside is and some rivers looking a bit scary. We didn't risk coming back through Lakes as one main road by Windermere was closed and we didn't want to risk minor roads. Did go to Grange over Sands for DH's favourite pies this morning though. DH has managed to catch a cold so quite glad we are home now.

Hope your Dh's back will soon be better leanfun.

Think I will take a leaf out of your book and get torches and candles looked out Alfie.

Must get on. Hope the wind doesn't do any harm to anyones property.

Morning folks. Sun is shining here and wind has died dow. Although we have a forecast for wind and rain later. Well done to anyone who has had a win. Off to read back as I have not been on for a week.

Morning, suns in and out here this morning. I told son it wasn't windy then we both saw a carrier bag fly past window so the wind is getting stronger here, lol.
Welcome back sheils, sorry to hear DH has a cold but hopefully it will go as quick as it came.I am just pottering around indoors today. Hope you all have a lucky day.

Neighbour gave me a phone. She has found a recipe in a mag for scotch eggs so she is going to make them for dinner for her and her hubby but she is going to give me one down for lunch to see what I think. Love really well made scotch eggs for a meal or a picnic so will see how this recipe goes. She says it is a bit different.

    :hello: Good afternoon

I hope you're all in fine fettle today. It's still blustery here but
not nearly as bad as yesterday, which was horrendous! It's
actually looking quite cheery & bright out now, soleilnuage.gif but I can
also see dark clouds on the horizon.

Been out & about this morning, walking first thing then took
myself off to local village to buy cat food & have a general
    browse around.

I'm in puddy's bad books again! Managed to squirt Provender
Spot On (worming treatment) on the nape of her neck this
morning & once it was done, she swiftly legged it away as
fast as her little legs would carry her! :rotfl::rotfl:

Still no sign of her, I think she's hiding/sulking! :p

Sounds as if you had a wonderful few days away sheils.
Don't blame you not wanting to risk coming back via the
Lakes especially as the main road by Windermere was
closed to traffic. I wouldn't have dared use the minor
roads either! Hope DH gets over his cold virus soon.

Hope you enjoy your freshly made scotch egg from
neighbour rose. I'm not a scotch egg eater although do
buy packs of bite sized ones for family when we have
salads or for picnics etc. :D

Have a lovely & lucky day all, take care.

Alfie it was horrible and had to tell neighbour it was. It was a soft boiled egg surrounded by smoked fish Yeuugggggggggghhh. Sorry neighbour that is not a scotch egg. Just said to her scotch eggs are surrounded by sausage meat not fish. Love fish and fish pie and fried fish in batter but no scotch eggs. Also love smoked salmon with a soft egg with some toast. Is it just me or do others think we do not like or is it ok

Rose it’s not just you. Sounded yucky. We have not had a proper Scotch egg for years.

Alfie the small ones you buy sound fine. Hope your paddy has forgiven you.

Sheils great you are home safely and had a few good days. Hope your DH’s cold does not last long.

Indie made me smile you thinking wind had dropped and then seeing bag fly by. It’s been like that here today. You think wind has dropped then off it goes again. Enjoy your day indoors.

We are going over to DD1s later. It’s GSs 8th birthday. Yesterday between the rain I managed to go to a local music shop and buy a 3/4 guitar for him. They had a 1/2 sized one for £49 but this was £59 so will share costs with DD1. To be honest I thought they were more expensive from what I remember when ours were young. It sounded ok when young man in shop played it. Came with a case and tutorial.

Take care everyone. Hugs to those needing one.
