    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all ok. :) Well, the weather here yesterday
was absolutely atrocious! Not just gale force winds
but also really torrential rain! Got worse as the day went
on. Never seen it like that before, _pale_ the garden ended up
looking like a lake, it didn't start to ease off until the
    evening.

Managed to get out & have a quick check to make sure that
everything was still in place. Amazingly it was all ok. Thank
goodness my neighbour had reattached my drainpipe before
    the storm set in. :T

I ended up comping for most of the day, so at least I've
managed to have a decent catch up! ecrire-ordi.gif

Thankfully it doesn't sound quite so windy this morning & we'll
hopefully be seeing sunshine today, unlike yesterday. :p

I'm sure your GKs will be fine flying from Glasgow today
leanfun - they must be so excited! :j

Have a lovely & lucky day all and please take care whatever
    your plans, stay safe.

Afternoon, it's a sunny day here today.Very cold and the wind has dropped some. It was the same as you yesterday Alfie, heavy rain and gale force winds. Went to check all the fences and pots earlier and my snow drops have come out, all fences and pots are still in place so happy with that. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
  • Hi, I am new to the site and wondering where exactly people start with comping......Any particular links, websites or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Quick evening to everyone. No problems with grandchildren’s flights or pick up from airport. DD1 brought other GS around now they are all hyper and crazy together.

American GKs now have a bit more of a Scottish accent and sang some very funny songs they learnt at school for Burns Day on the way back.

DD1 and DS are taking them out tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a hood weekend.

    Hi everyone,

Had a really horrendous night last night with galeforce winds and rain but today was ok apart from the wind. Got washing all dry too.
Ds3 has to go back to work on Monday (he was hoping for Thursday!) so we are taking him back to Pitlochry tomorrow. Going to have a look at his hotel and the loch beside it. Never seen either before even though we have been to Pitlochry a few times. Have booked a night a bit further south though as forecast is really cold there. We could have got a reduced family rate of £95 to stay at DS3s hotel and although I know that is a bargain I am still not paying it in the winter. Stayed at Gleneagles for £65 and it is the same category.

Glad you have no damage Alfie and indie. Don't see any here either thank goodness.

Sounds like fun at your house leanfun. Used to love it when my cousins arrived when I was a kid.

Anyway hope the weather is good for everyone tomorrow.

    :hello: Good morning everyone

Enjoyed a beautiful walk in the forest yesterday, along with the
whole world & his dog! chienbisous.gif Seems quite a few people were
eager to stretch their legs & make the most of the sunshine
after atrocious weather the day before!

Pleased you didn't have any damage either sheils - apparently
'Erik' is now moving on elsewhere, (possibly Scandinavia?).

It's a mixed weather bag here today, (showers vs sunshine :p)
    but thankfully not so windy.

It's lovely to see the first snowdrops indie, think they're
    beautiful ......

    Snowdrops1-500x464-300x278.jpg

"And thus the snowdrop, like the bow
    That spans the cloudy sky,
Becomes a symbol whence we know
    That brighter days are nigh;”

    George Wilson

Had no idea about the following .....

    Snowdrops as medicine

Snowdrops and other plants from the Amaryllidaceae family have a
naturally occurring substance in them called galantamine. This is
sold as a medication to help treat the symptoms of Alzheimer’s
disease under the name of Reminyl.

Galantamine was first used, in eastern Europe in the 1950s to
treat memory problems but it wasn’t until 2010 that it became
widely used in the UK when the National Institute for Clinical
    Excellence (NICE) authorised its use.

Sounds like you're all having a fun filled start to the week with
GKs leanfun, :D hope they have a brilliant time re their outing
    today. :j
