Been a nice day here. Got my washing dried and had a walk earlier too.

I remember my kids not staying out for long in the snow either chocolatelover93. We never had much snow when they were little so it never happened often but great excitement when it did. Not that we ever had enough to make a decent size snowman. Only time there was we were snowed in in Glasgow with DS1!

I have a little turkey in the freezer leanfun. Keep meaning to defrost it. Didn't have any at Xmas so bought it to have later (when it was half price) .

Hope everyone is well. I have a really annoying cold and my nose won't stop running! Must get on.

    :hello: Good morning all

We ended up having rain for most of yesterday, pluie07.gif plus it
was starting to feel chilly as the day went on ..... definitely
not pleasant walking weather! The worm/grub eating birdies
    absolutely loved it though! :p

So I decided to take a drive over 'Beaulieu/Buckler's Hard' way
in the end. The forest actually looked quite eerie, fairly misty
with quite a lot of surface water around.

Returning to the subject of Yorkshire puddings, which I love,
(either home-made or bought), it was Yorkshire
Pudding Day on 3rd Feb. Found an interesting article re
Aunt Bessie's - now the best selling Yorkshire pudding brand
    in the country!

Lol indie - I still have a little scarecrow in the garden, only
stands about 8" high plus little stick thingy to secure him in the
earth (bought years ago). He used to look very similar to the
photo but sadly he hasn't aged well, think he'll have to go! :p

smileys-ill-412985.gif Hope you're feeling a little better today sheils.

Have a lovely & lucky day all, take care.

Morning. Just cold and dull here now.

Alfie great you went out for a drive even in the rain. Thanks for the Yorkshire pudding link. Interesting read. Yes, ours were Aunt Bessies. Amazing how many they make. We don’t usually have them but I had bought them for American GKs as something they might eat. It’s strange as we often had Yorkshire pudding at home but before the main dinner with gravy.

Sheils hope your cold is a bit better today.

Not much progress with housework as neighbour called in the afternoon and we had a good catchup.

Chinese New Year already. Hope everyone has a good and lucky day.

    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all ok. :) Yet another change of plans for me
yesterday. My tree people were originally due to come over
at the end of the week to trim the top of a couple of trees
but called to say that the weather is going to be atrocious
here on Friday (windy/wet) and they thought it safer to do
the work in calmer weather conditions.
    ouragan.gif
So they came round yesterday morning & did a brilliant job,
as always. :T They're a wonderful local family company &
completely trustworthy. :A Sadly, there are quite a few
rogues out there who will willingly rip people off with not
a hint of remorse. Makes me so angry.

I've heard of quite a few people eating Yorkshire pudding &
gravy before the main dinner leanfun. Here's an interesting
    link ......

Not only is the traditional Yorkshire pudding a savoury dish, but it
is also served with or before the main course, not as a “pudding”
    or dessert .....

The original purpose of serving the batter pudding was not as part
of a main meal, in the way that it’s served with traditional roast
dinners now, but instead served before, with gravy, as an
appetiser course. This is because, when meat was expensive the
Yorkshire pudding could act to fill the consumer, meeting the
appetites of working men and allowing the meat to stretch
    further .....

It's looking to be quite a pleasant weather day today, must
pop in to see friends today as they're off to New Zealand to
visit family (tomorrow) - will be away for about a month.
Such a lovely couple, both worth their weight in gold. :A

Have a lucky day all and please take care, whatever your
    plans.

Looking nice here this morning. Been busy with family and DDs dog.
Seem to have spent a lot of time cooking for them all so think we are going to take our new car for a spin and have a day out. We are on dog walking duty tomorrow again.

Great you have someone good to trim your trees Alfie. We used to get so many rogues knocking at our door wanting to cut ours. We had to get them cut down a few years ago as the big rowan had honey fungus and was dead and some of the rest were looking dangerous in the wind and hitting our windows. Feel safer now but was sad to see them go. Not got any big trees now.

Thanks for wishes about my cold but unfortunately it is still pretty bad.
Haven't felt this bad for while but desperate to go out and do something.
Going to take a picnic but will need to be careful eating it as we will probably have to eat it in the car!

    Wishing everyone a lucky day.

Sunny here this morning and warmer.

Alfie you sound busy. Thanks for the link. Yes, our Yorkshire pudding was large and made in a roasting tin and we didn’t have a lot of meet.

Sheils hope your feeling a bit better.

We are picking GS up from school today. He’s getting excited to see his cousins at weekend when they come from Scotland for their half term. Just hope weather is ok for their flight.

    Take care and good luck.
  • Afternoon everyone :)

    Hope you're all well :)

Alfie - glad they did a good job :) I paid for a gardener to sort my garden out a few years back not long after my ex left. I paid £150 and he did half a job. Wasn't too impressed. Needless to say I didn't hire him again!

Sheils - Hope you feel better soon!

At work til 6 today. Had a nice day yesterday at my mum's I had a nap for about 2 hours though while she was watching TV with DS. Then was mega tired last night too.
Went to SW and had put on 10.5lb in 2 weeks!!:eek::eek::eek: so am being mega good today haha.

DS at nursery today, love it when I go and pick him up, he always has the biggest smile and runs over to me shouting :)

All this yorkie pud talk has me fancying a nice roast dinner! Its my weekend with DS this weekend so might cook us a nice roast on Sunday :D

Morning, glad you got your trees sorted out Alfie. We had very strong gusts of wind here last night, threw s few things round the garden and i could hear bins going over out front. Will go and check fences when it's light enough.Hope your cold eases soon sheils, we have all sorts of bugs going round here. Son phoned up Dr's on Tuesday and was told our Dr as well as another 3 were off sick. There is only 5 Dr's in practise so looks like they have caught something doing the rounds. Good luck with SW chocolatelover93, hope you have a better result nest time. I was at work yesterday and had text from DHL saying my parcel was being delivered on friday and requires a sigiture. When i got home and checked emails there was one from them with a tracking number so went back into it and a parcel is coming from Dublin. Not waiting for anything other than iphone cases from mag daily win and never had to sign for them before so can't wait till Friday to see what turns up.Have DS's GF friend coming today for a couple of days so must catch up on housework and food shopping. Hope you all have a lucky day.

    :hello: Good morning everyone

Yikes! Very windy here, we have a yellow warning in place until
late Saturday with gale force winds expected Friday. So
pleased my trees have been trimmed, although thankfully they're
not close to the house. jardin3.gif Also heavy rain has
    been predicted for Friday too.

    vil-orag.gif

It's feeling quite mild though & today 'apparently' we'll be seeing
some sunshine, so hopefully decent weather for walking &
    weeding the garden! jardinage0.gif

I'd forgotten all about half term leanfun. Your GS will be so
excited to see his cousins again. :j Bet the week will just fly
    by.

Unfortunately chocolatelover there are too many rogues trying
to cash in & looking for 'easy' ways to basically rip people off!
I'm a member of the 'neighbourhood alert' organization &
regularly receive emails from them re neighbourhood scams.
The organization is brilliant. Comprises of Constab, the local
Council, Met Office, Fire & Rescue Service, etc etc., so in a
nutshell, they have everything covered to keep us both
    aware & safe. :A :T

    https://www.neighbourhoodalert.co.uk/AboutUs

Now you've mentioned roast dinner after all the Yorkie pud
talk chocolatelover, I really fancy one too! :p So that's my
Sunday dins sorted! Love roasties, Yorkie pud & veggies,
but definitely no meat though (veggie). :D Your little son sounds
such a lovely happy soul. :)

Hope you're feeling a bit better today sheils & that you managed
to get out ok yesterday for drive & picnic. Have a great time on
    doggy walk today!

Same weather here indie - very windy through the night. I've not
ventured outside yet to see if anything has 'moved'!
Exciting news re parcel coming from Dublin - wonder if it's a
    comp prize! :j

Have a lovely & lucky day all and please take care, whatever
    your plans.
