Dil dropped in on her way home from work and brought me a toddy from her gran. She said to take it before going to bed and to dilute whatever I pour with twice the amount of hot water. Do not know what is in it but there is some kind of alcohol. DIL said there are herbs in it but does not know what they are as her gran keeps it a secret lol. Cold is gradually moving in to chest. When I cough sometime there is a little phlem coming up so will have to keep an eye on it. Do not need another chest infect. Last one was horendous. Breathing was a problem and inhalers were used like they were going out of buisiness. FF hope you get some news soon and can get back to some kind of normality. Shiels wrap up warm and relax let others do whatever needs to be done. If you have flu you need to rest. Hope everyone else is well.

Do hope the toddy helped overnight rose - throat/chest
infections are unfortunately on the increase just now. Get

Good morning peeps. It is absolutely freezing here today. No more overnight snow. Pavements are like glass where snow has been cleared. Went over to shop for Sunday papers and milk and owner was telling me his wife was in hospital. She slipped yesterday and broke her wrist very badly. She has to have an operation to sort it out. Toddy knocked me out until just after 3am then the coughing started again. Throat is still sore and chest feels a bit heavy and sore. Had some porridge earlier and it went down ok. Decided I am going to have some baked egg with cheese for lunch as that is quite smooth. Hope everyone else with a lurgy is feeling a bit better. Be carefull if you have snow and ice and have to go out. Take care.

Don't worry about me Alfie - I won't be venturing out today. It's icy and meant to snow around noon but improve as the day goes on so should be okay for me on Monday morning!

Lo Firefly at lots of snow. Brrr. its the ice that follows that worries me. Hope snow is cleared for you tomorrow and no ice.

Thanks for all the hugs everyone! Maybe working a bit as although I had another bad night coughing and still have touch of runs, I am feeling not too bad. Going to have slice of toast soon I think. Tried some cereal earlier but not a great success. DH feeling really tired but just his cough bothering him for by that. My coughing disturbs him through the night but he doesn't want to sleep on his own!
We have had rain and then a snow shower but it has stopped now and expect we will get more rain.

Whats the weather like down your way shiels? Been snowing again quite heavily here for the last hour. Neighbours niece and nephew are loving it they were out having a snowball fight. Gritter is out with its plough down to keep main roads clear but pavements are covered again. DS is coming down in the afternoon as he wanted me to make him cauliflower soup. Gave some in to his navy collegue who had never heard of it. Hope everyone is keeping warm.

Weather is wet here rose, did have brief snow shower earlier but didn't come to anything. Think some other near areas still have snow lying though.
DD is coming back down M74 and saying how much snow there is. She went up by train with a friend to Glasgow yesterday but they got offered a lift back by friends they bumped into.
