    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all ok today. :) Ouch rose! What are we going to
do with you?! :p And there's me thinking that I'm the most
accident prone one in the Inn! :D I hope your bruising isn't
    quite so painful this morning.

I've just googled The Piece Hall sheils, it looks & sounds amazing.
Have a safe journey home today.

So sorry to hear of the couple who passed away on the same day
leanfun & the man who recently died in his sleep. Hope
your DH gets over his cold soon. xx

1abeille.gif Found the following bee article yesterday - it makes for
    interesting reading ....

Sweat bees at a wood in the Scottish Highlands are being studied
to solve one of the great mysteries of insect politics: what makes
bees monarchist? The University of Exeter research team is
comparing the lifestyle of bees at Ledmore and Migdale Wood,
Sutherland, with that of their Cornish cousins.

Sweat bees live very different lives depending on where they are in
Britain. In the south of England, they live in the kind of colonies
most of us associate with bees - well organised communities with
a queen bee served by worker bees.

But in the north, royalty is out and the bees become republicans.
Scottish sweat bees live solitary lives with each female making a
burrow of her own. All bees are equal with no queens or workers:

I've never heard of sweat bees!

I have a delivery arriving at some point today so will be
able to have a decent comp catch up while I'm waiting! ecrire-ordi.gif

Morning peeps. Had a very uncomfortable night last night. Looking at bruising this morning it is spreading across chest and up my neck. Sky not looking too good this morning. Hopefully it will clear later. Never heard of sweat bees alfie interesting reading. We seem to have a few wasps about thought they would all have either died off or left by now. There are a few spiders about as well. Safe journey home shiels glad you enjoyed your trip. Family off on holiday shortly and it is GS birthday tomorrow he will be the grand old age of 12. Hope you are all well. Take care.

Morning, oh dear rose what are you like. You was doing so well. Hope it's not too painful today but at least the bruising is coming out now. Sad news about the neighbours who passed the same day leanfun but they are together now,and it does happen like that sometimes. I know of 2 couples that did that in homes i worked in and 1 couple were only in there 40's. I was working on the dementia floor yesterday and it seemed most of them were in hitting mood. Don't know if it was a full moon the night before but i know i am getting too old for this.lol.
Just dropped son off at work and popped to Tesco for a few bits. Going out in the garden soon as sun is out and i want to put a little fence up i brought the other day.Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all well today. :) It's due to be another beautiful
weather day here today but I've noticed it's starting to feel a
little bit chillier in the evenings now. The days seems to be
drawing in quite quickly too. :xmassmile Soon be Xmas! :D

Sending Happy Birthday Wishes to your GS rose! _party_
Hope you're feeling a bit better today. As indie says though, at
least the bruising is coming out now.

Received some very upsetting news from my daughter
yesterday - a puddy cat near to them had been shot in the
face with an air gun. _pale_

Sadly the cat couldn't be saved and was put to sleep.
The owners are absolutely devastated.

This makes me so angry. Why do these morons get
enjoyment out of this sort of sick behaviour? :( What sort of
mindset makes them do this & more? Absolutely sickening.

    ...... and breathe .......

A couple of lovely events for today ....

    World Black Pudding Throwing Championships

In this annual competition the ancient grudge between Yorkshire
and Lancashire is played out again – this time by hurling Black
Puddings at a pile of Yorkshire Puddings on a 20-foot high plinth.

Competitors have three turns in an attempt to knock down as
many Yorkshire Puddings as possible (they are arranged in a pile
of a dozen) and must throw underarm from a purpose built stand
    called the oche.

The competition dates back to the 1980s but the Yorkshire-
Lancashire rivalry is lost in the mists of time, and allegedly during
the Wars of the Roses the two sides exchanged fire with foodstuffs
when their ammunition ran out :p (if you believe that….). Expect a
lively, fun atmosphere and hundreds of puddings!

Have a lovely Sunday all and please take care whatever your
    plans.

Back home again. Didn't have too great a journey back yesterday as it bucketed down most of the time we were on the motorway which made conditions pretty bad on the busy areas. Sun came out about an hour from home though and stayed out. Looks like a cloudy start here but sun supposed to come out later so hopefully get all our washing dry.
Will have to get out to the garden before our next trip!

We didn't see Sylvia, leanfun as she had too many appointments and things on but she kept in touch with advice on area etc. We did eat in her local Wetherspoons at one point which seemed funny.

So sad about the cat Alfie.

It must be a hard job indie. My mother having dementia brings it all too close to home. I am a bit worried about DD going into mental health nursing as they are so short staffed and some patients sound really dangerous.

Hope you are feeling a bit better today rose and are being careful!

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Was sunny here first thing but gone now.

Agree with you Alfie about days shortening and it is much cooler first thing and evenings. Alfie really bad about the cat.

Indie, I think you do one of the most demanding jobs. The change in the pension age for some jobs is so wrong.

Pleased you are home Sheils. Frightening driving in pouring rain. Great you heard from Sylvia.

Rose happy birthday for your Grandson. Years go by quickly. Is he nearly as tall as you now? Do hope you are feeling a bit better bruising coming out is a good sign.

    On Friday I had a WEM https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5890895/e-06-09-win-1-of-3-mandara-spa-spa-essentials-kits-email&highlight=oxford+puzzle

Morning, hope you all had a good sunday. Sorry to hear about the cat Alfie. There are some sick people out there and i hope they find who did it. Welcome back sheils, glad you had a good time away. Yes my job is hard but harder for the carers that care at home as i can go home after my shift they can't and work 24 hours. Having the local councils keep cutting the budget dosen't help either. I heard last week that 1-2-1 care is no longer going to be assesed by our local council, they have brought outsiders in to do the assesment so that will be another harder to get benifit.Oh well we will just have to wait and see what happens now.
We have a delivery this morning of a new bed, i treated my son and partner to one (been trying to win one..lol) gave up waiting and brought them one.Sods law i will win one now.Hope you all have a lucky day.

    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all in fine fettle today. :) Where did the
weekend go?! Seems to have whizzed by!

Sadly there seems to be so many morons out to harm
animals in general fire**fly. I agree with you & I also
believe in karma - what goes around comes around! You're
most welcome re my links. :D I'd never heard of Sweat
bees - found the article fascinating! 1abeille.gif

I also agree re. carers & nurses/family all giving their time
to look after others - absolute angels. :A

:T Fab win! I can remember having to 'sew' my kids labels
on all their school stuff - very fiddly and time consuming! These

    Abbots Bromley Horn Dance renne.gif

    abbots_bromley_horn_dance.jpg

Taking place on Monday 10th September in 2018, this annual
event attracts visitors from around the world to view this
    spectacular and unusual display.

    About the Horn Dance

The Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, performed at the Barthelmy Fair
in August 1226, is one of the few ritual rural customs to survive
the passage of time. Today the Horn Dance, which takes place
annually on Wakes Monday, offers a fascinating day out attracting
visitors from all over the world.

    PaulPickard101352135750T.jpg

After collecting the horns from the church at eight o'clock in the
morning, the Horn Dancers comprising six Deer-men, a Fool,
Hobby Horse, Bowman and Maid Marian, perform their dance to
music provided by a melodian player at locations throughout the
village and its surrounding farms and pubs. A walk of about 10
    miles (or 16 kilometres).

At the end of a long and exhausting day, the horns are returned to
    the church in the evening.

Attractions during the day include exhibitions, craft stalls and, of
    course, the local pubs.

Been getting all confused with the days - not in the habbit of coming home on a Saturday!
Got all my washing dry so "just" the ironing to do now. Have to go to PO to see what the packet is that they have for me. don't expect it will be exciting. DH is going to arrange the first MOT for our car. Can't believe we have had it 3 years. It will need to be done this week as we will be away on its due date. Meaning to call in to see parents too so busy day planned.

Well done on the wins leanfun and FF.

I tried to win a bed for years too Indie but gave up and bought one before DS1 and GF came over in May. (I didn't win one afterwards)

Had never heard of Abbots Bromley before Alfie never mind the Horn Dance! Have just looked it up though and we must have gone pretty close to it when going from Sudbury to Lichfield.

Must get on. Wishing everyone a lucky week.
