Well done on wins. Rose great to have a surprise book win. Sheils pleased you will be able to use cinema tickets on one of your breaks. Firefly lovely for you to have a win great to ‘see’ you.
Indie hope nephew’s son is better.
Alfie thanks for the Samosa link.
Rose conditions under sea sound horrendous fir long periods must really take it out of them all. Hope your DS has a good rest now. We certainly need them in these troubled times.
When we went to Canterbury recently I bought a top in Phase Eight in Fenwicks as it was Bank Holiday they had a reduction. At home I looked on their site and found some things I liked in the Sale section. I’ve bought a dress that fits for £30 instead of £89 and a top for £21 instead of £69. The dress came last week and DD2 said it looked good. Top came yesterday and is totally different from what I usually wear. It has raglan three quarter sleeves and is long so covers my stomach completely.
Take care everyone and good luck.0 -
Afternoon everyone, beautiful day here today. Just finished cutting the grass after giving it 2 cuts i checked the blades as it didn't seem to be cutting much and both blades were only half and inch long, lol. Luckily i had some spares so changed them and got another cut done. nice to see you ff, well done on the wins.Glad the recliners are not too fiddley Alfie.
Yes leanfun, nephews son is back at school now and feeling better. You got some good bargains from Fenwicks. I prefer long tops as they cover a multitude of sins. Just having a coffee before i do some comps. Hope you all have a lucky day0 -

I'm with you indie!I also prefer longer tops -
excellent for covering up a multitude of sins! :rotfl::rotfl:
Wonderful events - this weekend & next weekend ...
Heritage Open Days 2018
6-9 September AND 13-16 September
One Festival. Two Weekends. Hundreds of Extraordinary Women.
For the first time in its 24-year history, Heritage Open Days –
England’s largest festival of culture and history – will take place
over two consecutive weekends in September. This year, in
recognition of the centenary of the Universal Suffrage Act, there
will be hundreds of events taking place on the theme of
‘Extraordinary Women’ – focusing on both well-known and less
celebrated women.
In addition, Heritage Open Days is launching a second Unsung
Stories project, following on from the critically acclaimed LGBTQ
events last year. put her forward, a ground-breaking artistic
collaboration, will see the creation of up to 25 new 3-D modelled
figurines of present day ‘Extraordinary Women’. Interactive
theatre makers non zero one will source nominations for
community heroines in towns and cities, as well as online; selected
candidates will be permanently commemorated with statues
unveiled over the HODs weekend.
“Every year, Heritage Open Days becomes a more diverse and
fascinating festival,” says patron, Loyd Grossman. “It’s wonderful
that, thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery,
we are able to continue the Unsung Stories project, which actively
sources and shares stories of individuals and events that
conventional histories may have overlooked. And, of course, we
continue to celebrate all aspects of local heritage, with thousands
of other walks, talks, openings and events – all of them FREE!”

Morning folks. Nice and bright here this morning. Sun is out but it is not that warm. Had a bit of an eventval afternoon yesterday. Fell over and hurt shoulder it is very black and blue and a bit stiff. Thankfully nothing other than bruising but can only use one stick now or one crutch. So will just have to wait until it gets better and stay indoors. DS thinks I have some kind of kamakaze wish lol.0

Hi everyone,
Have had a lovely time away but due to head home tomorrow. Done so much walking.
Saw The Piece Hall today(sure it was you who mentioned it once leanfun?) It was very nice to see it all spruced up and used. We also went to Halifax townhall which was amazing!
Won £2 from GfK mediasobetter than nothing!
Great you are getting on with your painting Alfie.
Spring bulbs sound lovely indie. Keep meaning to get some. I did plants lots when I bought my house over 30 years ago but most have died now!
Hope you are OK rose. My mother was and still is terrible for tripping over and injuring herself.
Wishing everyone lots of luck.

Yes, Sheils I meantioned the Peace Hall. We went there before it was renovated. Would love to go back again. Did you see Sylvia?
I have relatives nearby. Great you have managed lots of walking.
Rose can’t believe you are in the wars again. As you said before bruising can be really painful especially shoulders. DH fell on his upper arm weeks ago now and it’s still not completely better. Really feel for you as you have been doing so well.
Weather was good here today but I have sat trying to catch up with comps.
The other day my sister phoned me to say a couple who lived along from us as we grew up had both died on the same day. The wife had been in a home with dementia and husband was recently diagnosed with cancer. My sister is younger than me and her best friend was their youngest. This couple were ten years younger than my Mum, who would have been 98 this year, she died aged 52. The wife used to bring meals and cakes to Mum. Really feel for my sister s friend.
Yesterday we had the news that a friend who lived locally and moved a few years ago died suddenly aged 62. He lived by himself died in his sleep.
DH has had a cold and has decided he won’t be up for the concert tomorrow. So has asked his sister to find someone else to go with her. Fortunately she can pick the tickets up from venue.0
