Nice to see you mummy2 and hope you feel better soon. Was wondering how you were.
Thank you re hubby - he turned 70 so had several birthday meals including one cooked by 2 of our sons who are chefs plus a stay in a beautiful holiday cottage by the beach in the Highlands (free!)
My daughter was born at home too, wasn't supposed to be but didn't even get out of the house never mind anywhere near the hospital which was nearly an hour away. (New one is only about 40 mins away )Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Morning. Thinking of you Rose this morning as I woke too early.
Happy Birthday to your youngest Mummytothreeboys. Know what you mean about them growing up fast. GS who lives nearest to us was seven this year. Been thinking of you. Hope you feel better soon. Well done on your win.
Alfie hope you found some jeans. You reminder me of shopping with my friend in Madeira when I went for the flower festival. We met up with an American friend of hers. In the shops this friend kept saying this would look nice with jeans. In the end I just said I have never worn jeans. Her reaction was priceless ‘You have Never worn jeans’ In her Boston accent to the whole shop.
Yesterday was a strange day. We were woken by GS who had stayed overnight. DD1 collected him about lunch time. DD2 and family eventually arrived with two sleeping GKs after 11pm. (They have had bad journeys with them in the daytime. They are 3 and 5 now) Tesco shopping due late never came. When we phoned there had been an accident somewhere. Lady said rescheduled for 11.15 it never came. She might have meant this morning. Lo nearly empty fridge and four extra people here. Can hear someone on move already.
Raining here now but forecast says should clear and be dry for next few days.
Hope everyone has a good day. Be lucky.0 -
:hello: Good morning all
Hi mummy2 - lovely to 'see' you. Was actually thinking about
you t'other day - you must have got my vibes! So sorry to
hear that you've not been in a good place of late. Do hope you
start to feel a little better as each day passes. :A
Mega belated happy birthday wishes to your youngest! _party_
He must have been absolutely thrilled with his new bike. :T
Very well done on your latest win too! :T Please take care. xxx
I agree with you re jeans sheils - all I see are those dreadful
really skinny straight jeans and they always seem to be
worn by the 'wrongly' shaped people! Pleased I'm not
alone on this!
I did better than first thought - thankfully it 'only' took me
about 3 hours in the end. _pale_ Eventually found a pair that I
quite liked so bought two of the same. Does anyone else dislike
store changing rooms & the 'ugly' mirrors or is it just me?!
Town was also heaving with a lot of wealthy looking cruise liner
passengers, all eager to spend their dosh.Could see a
couple of liners when I was heading out of town. Think they look
quite ugly nowadays, (so top heavy!) much prefer the older, more
traditionally shaped ones.
Well done on finding cheaper house insurance! :T It makes my
blood boil the way some insurance companies go about their
business - must come as one hell of a shock when people who've
been paying religiously for years find they're not even covered
when they have to put in a claim.
Always love a good rant first thing in the morning! :rotfl::rotfl:
Only just seen your post leanfun - I'd been wondering how
you were getting on this week! Lol at the American lady re
not wearing jeans! :rotfl::rotfl: Hope your online shopping
arrives this morning. Have a brilliant time with family - I
expect they'll all keep you & DH thoroughly entertained. :j
Have a lovely & lucky day all and please take care whatever
your plans.

Sheils Your hubbys birthday sounds wonderful so perfect! Re Home births Both myself and hubby was also born at home..one planned and me who was laughed out apparently and didn't make it to the hospital either!
Hi Alfie and Leany (and all) I feel in a good place today and have spent an hour writing a positivity diary and challenges to try and get through.
My friend knows I have issues and just turned up last night and told me we are going for a walk..one hour later watching the sun set I came back different somehow. I guess it helped to chat chat rubbish to a friendly ear and get out from parental duties for awhile.
Tipping it down here and cold, resisting putting heating on.
Oh off on Sunday to a spa day (I won nectar points a year ago) so swapped it for a spa day for 2, then Ashford for lunch and a shop. Something to look forward to.
Have a wonderful day all and hugs to you all (thanks for the thoughts) xxCompers challenge 27/70

Have had a busy day here trying to get up to date in the house and garden. Half the grass is now cut and large hedge bushes trimmed.
It has been a lovely sunny day here.
Glad you got your jeans without too much bother Alfie.
Leanfun I don't really wear blue jeans but I do wear black ones. Hope your shopping arrived ok.
It is great that you are feeling happier mummy2. Hope you have a lovely time at the spa.

I've still not finished painting my wooden furniture - so many
far more interesting things to get on with, gardening wise!
It's 'International Whale Shark Day' today .....
INTERNATIONAL WHALE SHARK DAY - A MAJESTIC SPECIES
AT RISK...DUE TO TOURISM?
Beautiful. Gregarious. Endangered. As the world’s largest fish and
beloved by many, it’s hard to believe that the majestic whale shark
finds itself at risk of extinction.
This marine mammoth has become synonymous with the
tranquillity of the ocean; its very name – ‘shark’ – being deemed
contrary to its calm, gentle presence. Unlike other habitants of the
deep blue, the whale shark does little to invoke a sense of fear,
with tourists flocking to the shores of Africa, the Maldives, Mexico
and more for just a glimpse of this mysterious, captivating species.
But it is the very admiration of the whale shark’s size and serenity
which poses much threat, driving the species ever-closer to
obsolescence...... >>>
THE TROUBLE WITH TOURISM
In the modern age of technology, aesthetic is king. Bigger is
better. The more far-out and otherworldly an experience, the
faster those likes and shares will rack up. But in our quest to
appear earthier, holier, and more ‘at one’ with the world, we risk
leaving behind a trail of detriment..... >>>

display of inappropriate tourist activity)

Morning all. Bit dull and cloudy here. Still no sign of DS but DIL had a phone call to expect him by the weekend. So fingers crossed. Have a sore toe. Banged it of the step while coming in the door. Silly me will learn me to lift my foot higher in future. Hope everyone is well.0

Another busy day here! Just been relaxing with a glass of wine after a lovely "Anniversary" meal. It was 27 years today since our first date and you know me everything has to be celebrated! We had steaks in a mushroom creamy sauce - sauce by me and steaks cooked by DH.
Did you get your painting done Alfie and indie?
Hope your son is home soon rose.

:hello: Good morning everyone
Hope you're all ok - can't believe it's the last day of August
already!! Meteorologically .... it's the last day of Summer & the
start of Autumn tomorrow. Soon be Xmas! :xmassmile :rotfl:
It's a beautiful start to the day here and the weekend is due
to be fairly warm.
Lovely bit of weekend sunshine for all the school kiddies -
pretty sure they all return back to school next week? Have lost
track - I'm sure my eldest granddaughter said she starts 'big
school' properly soon(she's almost reached the 'grand old
age' of 5)! :grinheart :rotfl:
Ouch rose! Hope your toe isn't quite so sore today - I know
from experience just how painful that can be! Bet you & family
can't wait to see DS now. I expect there will be quite a bit of
celebrating when he returns home from sea.
Happy belated 27th anniversary best wishes re. first date
with your other half sheils! Sounds as if you had a lovely
evening.
Nope, didn't even make a start on the painting yesterday -
far too busy doing other more interesting things!I'll get
back to it eventually, just got to get into the right mind-set
(i.e. brain in neutral mode)! :rotfl::rotfl:
Have a lovely Friday all and good luck with end of month
comp catch-up.
