Had a fair bit of rain again last night so hoping my pansies are going to recover. It looks like the little rowan tree I moved (from the rockery!) is going to survive too.

Will have to go and buy a birthday card for a cousin and deliver it as her birthday is Thursday and we have things on the next 2 days - dentist and getting tyres for the car.
Hope evryone has a lucky day.

Morning folks. Rain has finally gone and sun is trying its hardest to break through. It was really heavy at one point and we had a pond in part of the courtyard (there is a little dip right in the middle of it) Need to do some food shopping. Was going to do it online but DIL is going to come down in the morning and take me to shops and supermarket. GK's their gran and great gran are off out for the day to Kelvingrove Park and visiting a few museums tomorrow and a picnic so hopefully no rain tomorrow. Hope everyone is well. Take care be lucky.
  • Thank you for the welcome! I find one of the best bits of comping is the community, however cheesy that sounds :) I hope your plants manage to pull through in the weather, it's definitely not ideal.

    Night all!

Morning folks. Had a better night last night thankfully it was a bit cooler. We have blue sky this morning and puffy white clouds so it looks promising. Have arranged for GK's theor other gran and great gran to drop in here afer their day out for something to eat. Save them cooking when they get home (they will probably be tired). I am not cooking we are having a takeaway. Will order when I know what they want. Have a chinese. Indian and chip shop locally and they are all good. Looking forward to DIL taking me to supermarket and shops this morning. She is working today from 2pm till 8pm so a full day for her even though kids are out for the day. Hope everyone is well. Take care. Be lucky.

    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all ok. Phew! It was unbearably hot here
yesterday, going to be the same today & even warmer
    tomorrow. soleil.gif

I'm off out early this morning to get some provisions in
while it's still relatively cool. It's our local elections
tomorrow so will be voting either very early in the day,
or latish (about 9.30'ish) when it'll hopefully be cooler.

You're most welcome AppleCrumble. :) My garden plants
are just about surviving, was out again yesterday evening
checking on them all. Fingers n' paws crossed they'll
    be ok. :p

Forgot to mention .... was thinning out my bamboo
plants t'other evening and discovered an abandoned
birdy nest complete with one egg. (Blackbird nest).

It had been beautifully made - as sturdy as a rock.
Popped it in a box & now in my garage ready to show my
4yr old granddaughter when I see her. Will be lovely for
her to take in to school & show her teacher/friends.

Must fly - have a lovely & lucky Wednesday all and
please take care whatever your plans.

Had a lovely sleep last night. Maybe not having the heat is ok!
    Dull again this morning.

Our front garden is looking nice and tidy now after a few hours working in it. DH and I are trying to do about an hour a day. My pansies are looking better since the rain and some little seeds I scattered from them are coming up. Hope they don't get eaten as they come up. Hopefully working our way round to the back of garden although DH has been trying to keep shrubs under control with his large hedge cutter thing. He cut through the cable the other week but electrician round the corner fixed it.

Know what you mean about the community AppleCrumble. We all love a good natter in here!

Sounds like your GKs are going to have a busy day rose. There are some great free museums in Glasgow. Would love to visit more often but difficult to find nice reasonable cost hotels with free parking in the summer. Always seem to go in the winter. Public transport from here is dire - so many changes to make .

Sounds a bit hot where you are Alfie, maybe just as well we did our visit to Portsmouth earlier although it was really hot then too. So loved our air conditioning at the Village hotel there.

Must get on. We have dental check ups to go for later :(
    Good luck all.

Home again. Food shopping all done. Also went in to primark and got the GK's some shorts and t-shirts for their holidays. Asda has an offer on school shirts/ blouses 5 pack so got a pack each for them going back to school. Other gran is buying them their school shoes this year. School has pretty strict rules on uniform but they do have a fund for parents who cannot really afford to buy everything. They actually buy in school shirts/skirts/trousers etc so that kids are not made to feel different from everyone else. GS is off to high school this year (that also has a uniform policy) so it is a full new uniform for him. Primary school gave him his tie when he finished P7. Hope sun is shining for everyone (sorry alfie know you are all suffering in the south) I am off outside shortly to have my lunch in the sun. (whilst typing postie van delivered my Ultrasun QVC order so thats suncream sorted for their holiday when sun returns) They are off to Turkey in September.

Welcome Applecrumble, love the name.Hope your lucky and have lots of wins.
Virgin decided to upgrade the internet round here yesterday so it was off early till late afternoon. I only found out as rung them when all the usual checks did no good. Nephew made his cakes and took them home to share with his brothers, after tasting them himself, and licking the spoon and bowl out.lol. Sure that's the best bit for kids. It's a very hot day here again, it did cool down for a little while in the middle of the night but not for long. Nephew watered my plants this morning and then we popped to shops for a few things. Just waiting for his dad to come home now. Hope you can all keep cool in this heat.

Slapping on factor 30. Off out for lunch in the sun. Have a tan and quite a good one front of leges are brown back of leges is not lol. Have had a look up and back of legs are resistant to sun (seemingly) It seemingly has to do with fat?
