Morning turned out to be rather fraught. Too rushed putting everything in.
Dgs3 was a bit of a handful and unruly, so it was a little stressful.
Then Dgs4 was sick all over his lunch!
We were a little late after the clean up and the GF was sitting being very moody when we arrived 5 minutes late at the preschool.
But the boys enjoyed Santa and we now have a snow globe with our family pictures in it.
And my purse is lighter by £50 .
I had a call from staff looking for someone's Trousers which I have here at home. So I have to go in now and take them in so she can collect them. My exhaust has started to rattle on the way home. Not so good. As I need the car tomorrow to take Dgd to the cinema, tickets bought all ready. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Glad you had a good morning even if a little fraught.

Happy to hear the boys enjoyed seeing Santa . I don't envy needing to clean up after a child has been sick on his lunch
.
Do you have a relative, friend or neighbour who could take a look at the exhaust in the morning? It may just be something has worked loose . Of course if it's the heat shield or it's misaligned it will be a garage job .
Which film are you going to see? The must see film this week in town is the new Spiderman . I rarely go to the cinema nowadays but have been debating whether to see the latest Robert Redford . Not sure whether to keep to the memory of Hubble, Sundance ,Gatsby etc or see him as he is now . I hope you and dgd have a good day together and advice from me is turn off your phone while you're out and about. Texts etc can wait until later . Just enjoy each others company without hassle before she'll be going to her mums and you and your mum will be heading for a much needing break .

I am still not dressed. Although I don't have the boys, I had already booked staff to do the shop this morning so a rare Saturday morning lie in.
The garage have said they can look at the car today but cannot fix it. So I may just have to go to town and be careful, if the rattle gets worse then call the AA. I don't need the car until I go to Mum next weekend, and actually if it ends up in the garage I would just ask Biggest or DS to take me to Mums. Or get a taxi. But the weather front coming in is a worry. Although I am on the edge of the ice warning. There is a blanket in the car. Maybe I will pack two incase.
Dgd is in her room on her Xbox. I will Potter this morning and see what I need to do for tomorrow's family gathering.
But it will be Potter! I am not going to dash around. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Pottered, dusted, tidied, sorted the odd cupboard and have cleaned up some crystals. Changed batteries in some fairy lights and put them in bottles and my crystal ships decanter for decorations.
Still not been to the loft for the decorations! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Did you bring some christmas bunting back the other day? TBH as you've got some lights Iwouldn't bother getting the tree etc down from the loft . You can make it festive with tealights and or candles along with the lights . As you and dgd will be away over the holiday it's hardly worth heading to the loft , decorating the tree etc and then having to put everything back again .
If you can it's better trying to get some rest and relaxation before you go away to help make the holiday more of a break rather than needing to wind down when you get there .
Fingers crossed the exhaust holds out and the weather holds out today . We're on a coastal gale warning along with the frozen rain and or snow here in the NW . I'm a short walk from the sea so will be staying home today .

We enjoyed the film. Popcorn, coke and kit Kat! Then Dgd wanted a McD on the way home!
The exhaust held, but I was praying and Dgd was talking to the car all the way home. I won't be driving again until I can get it fixed.
I agree that I cannot be bothered to decorate. I have used the fairy lights I found in the drawer, and the bottle light, and used some unusual egg cups with t lights. I have put the Christmas table cloth and the snowman centre piece out, and reindeer sparkle on the glass coffee table.
It's actually looking a little festive.
TV, roast chicken and wine tonight!
Probably in my Pj's! XxWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sounds like a good day for you both . I'm glad you've opted not to head for the loft . It sounds quite festive anyway and will save wear and tear on the shoulder .
Which film did you see? I don't know if you or dgd are Dr Who fans but at the moment I'm watching my Doctor David Tennant on the drama channel . I discovered they are showing all the Dr and Rose episodes on Saturday evenings . Three episodes tonight .
Anyway if you haven't got the feet up tonight do so as soon as possible . Enjoy the chicken , wine and tv . Wishing you a stress free evening and a good nights sleep .

At least I spotted todays typo as soon as I'd posted . Makes up for the one I didn't notice yesterday . In my defence it's blowing a hoolie as we say up North and the internet keeps dropping .

We went to see The Grinch. Dgd enjoyed it. The trailer for Mary Poppins looks good. Unfortunately she will be going to her Mum Friday, so it will depend on how long it stays in the cinema, if we can watch it or not.
The boys are due here in a couple of hours, then Biggests family is coming around 3pm
Someone is coming to collect the freezer, around 12.
Don't know what time the boys will be collected, it will depend on the carers journey from the south.
Right I better get moving. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
