Mooloo’s Managing it in 2018

Mooloo if GF's mum cancelled - then you too can cancel! It has upset all your plans, and your plans to see your mum, to take DGD out are all as important as the plans of GF mum/the social worker/DS & GF .
Don't allow yourself to be used as the backstop for everything. xx0 -
Dgd and I had a good morning at the Cinema, watching Christopher Robin. Eating pop corn and drinking blue drinks!
Everyone is here now until 6pm.
But I am sitting in the corner watching rather than doing, although I will do the dinner.
My new reduced Tax Credit letter has arrived. As expected it has reduced by just over £40 but my childcare costs have reduced by £48 so I am theoretically better off.
Dgd is being very good about everything, and we are not wanting for anything at the moment anyway.
Although my electric and gas has gone up by £5 a month. So I will be switching things off when I notice them.
Revisited various challenges in my diary and on here, and knew it would inspire me to revisit my spends etc.
I know that I will make it work, always have and always will.
Oh and yes I have spoken to the Social Worker yesterday when contact was changed.
I will make sure that next week I take my Mum out. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Shepherds pie for the little ones.
Chicken, potatoes wedges and peas for us.
One of the kittens has died overnight, he was just too weak.
It's probably going to be a miracle if the other two survive still but you cannot say they haven't tried. Re did my spreadsheet for the budget so I know what's going and coming from the accounts and when for the rest of this month and all of next month. It will be helped by my plan to have no Spends days through The same time too.
Now that it's getting colder I can take soups with me.
I have my trolley full of sewing to do when the boys have gone back.
That will spur me on to sewing my target of £100 worth of work so that I have less to do in the shop.

Not hit target. Too tired. Have done £72 worth in two and 1/2 hours. So was getting slower and slower. I know when to give in gracefully.

Morning. Hopefully I will have a good day today. The mum of my Saturday girl is coming in to work to give me a hand for a few hours to help me sort out my social media and the physical items for selling on line. It was a job I had planned for myself after Biggest left, but I cannot find a decent Seamstress, so I am stuck with the sewing myself. The lady used to run the shop next door before her lease ran out, and was good at the on line selling. It's worth a try anyway.
I plan to take lunch in with me, save my pennies and aiming for a No Spend Day today.
DS is under orders to get some boxes from my shop, and to clear that first house and return the keys when they go to contact tomorrow.
I have told them they must step up to the mark and get it done.
I have given them a basic list of Budget usuals, and told them to fill in what their outgoings are supposed to be, and then using a bit of reverse engineering see how much money they are missing and realise how much they have to earn each week, so they can focus on earning the difference, either by volunteering for more hours, or by looking for extra work elsewhere while they don't have the children.
I realise that while they are having contact and social meetings, solicitor etc they are struggling to have any time to do much, and I have suggested that they rethink work completely, and I will have to hound them to get organised, (not so easy when I am not the best at organising.).
I won't hold my breathe though.
Time for my tea, and shower etc
Not looking forward to getting out of my cosy bed this morning.
Winters on its way. My lamp is on charge. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hope today went well Mooloo and you sleep tonight .

Got to work on time despite feeling I was dragging my feet. Lady came and helped photograph stock, price, tidy displays, serve customers etc and do the Social media site.
I sewed.
Still nothing back from the electrician and when I rang the landlord he requested the insurance money, apparently he had emailed me but I never got it. So I am £380 down today. But that's it paid for the year.
When I got home DS came over for some boxes and to feed the kitten, and then went back to do another load. They obviously have too much junk. Gave him the boxes my Approved Food order came in. Surprise Surprise he actually gave me £40 he said he realises it's not much, but it was better than nothing and he is at least making an attempt. Now I must remember to pay it into the bank and off of the credit card and not let it sit in my purse.
I also had some post, it seems my Housing Benefit has been adjusted as my tax credits have gone down. When I thought about that I realised that the housing didn't change my DD at all, so I am paying more rent then I should be. I have emailed them tonight to see if they can reduce my DD .
If that happens I will be able to meet my outgoings if I stick to my budget.
I have also realised that the shop mobile phone is going out of my personal account not the business, so I need to change that. Also the AA is on automatic Renewal, so I need to cancel that, and find a cheaper one, especially now I only use the car four times a month!
One of the houses that I liked in Portugal is back on the market. It has made me very determined that my family is going to be paying me back!!
It also has made me realise that I need to focus on finding ways to earn a few more pounds from selling my sewing makes etc and putting everything in to my savings pot/doing down debt.
Not that I can get the house as I don't have the deposit required for a mortgage, or the cash for it . But it is my incentive to find my frugal self again.
I have some savings still, I have been trying hard to save since the summer and have my Emergency pot back up to £1,050.00 The Retirement fund stands at £1,100.14 and the ISA is still on £670 I haven't put anything in that one for about two years as the interest was minimal.
So I only need to find about another £36,000 ( Wink! )When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
That sounds a pretty productive day Mooloo . Spotting the overcharging will help the budget and keep you focused . Sometimes we take our eye off the ball when life is busy so you've done well .
Get to bed and sleep .

Whoop whoop to savings!!! Looking after the pennies looks after the pounds.
Have you bought kittens?
And I notice you mention DS and GF rethinking work - do you mean they should quit? If so this would be madness. I know they have appointments but surely it’s not more than 7 hrs a day every day. They are young, and should be able to manage simultaneously working them doing things (like cleaning houses) in the evenings.
Glad he gave you some money, shows gratitude!0 -
See if a cat of mine had a litter of kittens and one died overnight. I'd be getting the others checked over by a vet. Even if it were the pdsa who should help people on low incomes if they need support.
I would not be thinking at least they tried. If people can barely look after themselves they should not have responsibility for sick kittens that might not make it.
If they have unwell animals they should be getting them help or giving them to someone who knows how to look after them.
If your son and his gf give up work they risk sanctions.
I'm actually incredulous at some of the posts on here now. Being suggested that mooloo stops giving money to biggest.
Biggest who is married with kids. A scrimp here and a scrimp there does not take away from the fact that all these issues are caused by mooloos kids leeching from her.
And until she stops giving nothing will change for her.0
